My co-workers have told me that there's this divorced woman (early 40's, but looks YOUNGER), at the office, who seems to find me attractive. This statement has also been claimed by the woman's closest female friend.
The problem is: She's OLDER than I am, but looks good.
However, when I see her, she acts like she there's nothing going on and greets me as if she HAD to. Her closest female friend, though, ALWAYS teases her while I am nearby.
I am very curious whether this all is true or not or whether this could be part of just a joke. How can I find out?

She is probably nervous around you, which makes her actions seemed forced, because she is interested in you. The only trouble is, she's having problems coping with you being so much younger than her, and that's what her friends are teasing her about. The next time you see her, give her this poem...
"Looking eastward at the early morning sky, I saw the mountains, which loomed up before me, tugging gently at their blanket of clouds, while the sun, now caressing their shoulders, prepared to run its long warm fingers down across their bellies of sand and sage and dew, bringing forth the fresh scent of a new days hope."
It sounds pleasurable, intelligent, wise, and will give her something romantic to think about, without you having to really say anything that could be used against you, if she's not interested. It is a poem I wrote many years ago, and every woman I have ever shared it with has loved it.

Why not she is a woman and an attractive one at that she has a wants and desires and who is to sat that you are not just what this Maiden wants , if you are about to try and entertain such a lady you must be Mature about it don't pay attention to all the gossip and sly talk just walk up to her and In private ask her to lunch be straight forward at lunch and tell her that you think that she is stunning and that you would like to see her for dinner one night if its alright with her if she says that your age difference is a problem then say if it is to her then you can understand but if she is worried about you then its not a problem you would be proud to be seen out with such an amazing woman if its a problem for other people then that is something others will just have to get used to . If it turns out to be a joke then just laugh it off and be the bigger man , because at least you stepped up to the plate .

WEll I'm in that situation right now well age isn't nothing but a number and u can find love 1 way or the other if u thing she's hot and attractive give her a chance and maybe she wants u to make the first move that's why she's throwing out hints so ask her out on a date and it might be the best night of your life

Well, are YOU interested in her?? If you think maybe so, Then just put your own moves on her and ignore what the office gossip is. If she really is interested she will respond. She might just be in a self protection mode when she is near you.
If she really is not interested, Then no harm no foul.
I'm assuming your not otherwise involved.

Age is just a number, if you find her attractive ask her out for coffee or something that don't put either one of you in a long time span and just she how it goes.

are you interested in her? if so talk to her about the rumors and about what her friend said....
a lot of times girls will use a friend to feel somebody out...send them over to say...so and so finds you attractive...and get your response...
how did you respond when her friend told you that she was attracted to you?

Ask her to have lunch with you. That would not be unusual for co-workers.
