Probably the best option if you are near one is Car Max. Many people do not know they will buy your car even if you don't shop there. They will only take decent late model cars in good shape (they do need to be able to sell it). Otherwise, a used car lot like a previous poster said.

You might ask some small used car lots if they would sell it for you they would want to make something on it though. I dont know if its an old or new car paid off or you still owe on it. Maybe ask the lowest price possible. Put some notices on bullitin boards college, grocery, laundry mats, bowling alleys.

A lot of charities will take it if you are really in a hurry. In our area there is an auto auction to which one can bring a car they want to sell. Bring it in during the day and by evening it is sold.

You can sell you car through Ebay, advertise in local news
papers or by small notices placed in colleges or university
campus bulletin.
You can also place some small notices in the public bus
stations, sub-ways and train stations too.

*What kinda car you got? ... where is it .. like state wise? if you are located in Connecticut... send me pictures and details and price... i'm looking for a car! :) ... (sweetsuezq4u@yahoo.com is my emailing address!) ...
* Umm.... you can always put the details on here and see if someone is interested in buying it... :)

Find a vocational school with an automotive repair program and donate it. Get a paper from them saying it was not donated for resale but to be used in their training. That way you get book value for a tax deduction.

Put an ad in the local newspaper or trading post.
Take it to a dealer, sometimes they buy even if you don't buy one of theirs.
