There is no such thing as too independent for a serious relationship. Chances are the ones that have been single for a long time are the only ones who are really going to take a relationship serously.

Women who have been single a long time because they are JUST as afraid of commitment as men. I am single after 17 years of marriage, and well, marriage and divorce are the reasons why we are single now. Building and risking relationships are costly in time, money, and effort. However LIFE AND LOVE involves risk. It takes a lot to convince a woman that you are not into using her, and that your ultimate goal is not sex. But then again, a woman may use a man, toss him aside, and if it breaks his heart...well. See tables are turning and roles are non existent.

Maybe the reason she's been single a "long time" is because all of the guys she has met have been jerks and not worth her time. Maybe she's just waiting for her prince charming.

That has happned to me, I think I am too independent for a relationship. I have todo everything myself and my man has the biggest problem with that. I told him that he should be happy that his woman is not a "gimme girl".

That depends on the woman. If she is more into herself, her career, her money, and just selfish all around, then yes. But if not, she could be more mature and more ready to get involved than most.
