The main concern with the white pits are the blue eyed whites. The blue eyed whites are the ones that are linked to deafness.
OMG! White Shepherds are not deaf!! The white gene in the Shepherd is a masking gene. Wrong info on the Shepherds!

Oh, please don't. Pits are already nuts. My vet will put any Pit down for free. They were bred to be fighters, and if you own two, it is because in the eyes of the guys who fight these dogs for $$ they just weren't nuts enough. These dogs often snap and take out a person's neck, or tear off some kid's arm.... you can read it in the papers any day.... Get them fixed. If they have been good pets to you so far, how fortunate for you. (And, you have no idea of the expense of breeding and raising puppies. You'll have a minimum of $400.00 into each puppy before they're weined, and you won't get nearly that -- you'll be lucky to give them away.

Regarding color: Solid white is a problem in most animals, particulary those where most of the skin is white. White animals do tend to be deaf -- occurs in Danes, and shepherds. Blindness is also a problem. In foals, that are excessively white, the ofspring of two paint horses, the digestive system does not connect -- it is lethal, and the foal dies within a few days.

They are enough homeless animals and especially Pit Bulls in shelters that will be euthainized daily. Unless both dogs are champions and have had extensive health checks, and you are ready for the responsibility of if one of the puppies doens't work out at that home that they must ruturn them to your care, so they do not ever end up in a shelter, do not even consider this. From the fact that you do not know if they will come out blind or deaf means you have not done research and are most likely a backyard breeder. Get your animals fixed and enjoy their companionship, instead of trying to make money off them.

Pits are not normally an all white breed. So if you intend to breed two of them becareful of the white gene for deafness, liver issues, kidney issues...and alot more problems down the road as possibilities...

You should have them BAER tested FIRST to make sure they are not deaf or deaf on one side. That could be passed on to the puppies. THen, the puppies should ALSO be BAER tested before going to new homes. That is what good breeders do.

The blue eye thing is not always true. Dalmations and English Setters have a big problem with deafness and they are not all white nor have blue eyes. In cats it is the blue eyed link. Have the dogs tested to be sure.

I hardly doubt that they will however their offspring may not be solid white. do you have papers on both make sure they are not from the same family tree so to speak. I have only had pits my en tier life they are a wonderful and loyal bread. you want to talk about dogs snappin what about ankle bitters no one says put them down! I have had male pits mostly and the watch over the kids perfectly. i can't spank the kids without the dog looking at me funny!

first...please do NOT listen to ladyren she is an idiot !!!!!! second....why do you feel the need to breed?shelters are full of unwanted dogs, rescues are full, dogs are being euthanized at shelters every day.PLEASE think this over....unless both dogs are up to the breed standard in conformation, temperment and there are no genetic health problems and you already have qualified, responsible homes all lined up you DO NOT NEED TO BREED !!! also are you prepared to take one of these pups back any time in the future when the owner no longer wants it ?this is what a responsible breeder does....if you cant rescue dont breed....why breed or buy while shelter animals die !!!!!!!
