My mom smokes, and I hate having friends over because I don't want them to be uncomfortable from the smell. I also have to go to school smelling like smoke because the perfume I spray won't cover it up all of the way. People always ask me why i smell like smoke, and I hate telling them my mom smokes. But if I don't say anything, they automatically think I smoke. I've talked to my mom about quitting, but its too hard for her. Do you know of any perfumes or body sprays I could wear to cover up the smell at school and of any household sprays to cover the smell when I have friends over?

Get a gallon of white vinegar at the store. Pour a little in some small open containers and use them around the house or in your room as air fresheners.

You can also put the vinegar in a spray bottle and spray the air with it to help eliminate odors.

Tell your mom that when you go to school the kids want to know why you smoke because you smell like you smoke. It's all over you and you can't get rid of it. Ask her to smoke outside from now on.

Fabreeze is the best. It's an odor remover, not a deodorizer. It attacks the smoke particles and neutralizes them. They make fabric spray and air spray. You can find it in the cleaning supply area of the grocery store.

your mother is a self centered ADDICT (yes this is an bonified addiction) but its no excuse thats what she is doing she's making excuses yes its hard to quit, there are support groups if she wants to, but it does not seem that is the issue here, heck let her smoke, let her burn big whoop, but in the meantime she should respect your right to breathe clean air, not have to stink like an ashtray; not to mention risk cancer from 2nd hand smoke. and i don't wanna hear its her house... its not... its YOUR HOME TOO, I smoke and when I smoke I go outside simple as that. let your selfish Mom poison her self out side in the garage whatever. Or call child protective services.. her smoking is killing you

Has she tried quitting?
Ask her to smoke outside of the house at all times. Smoke tends to get into the curtains, drapes too. They need washing in nice smelling washing powder.
