This morning, as we were leaving for school, the dog slipped out. Now, I can't let him run loose, because he's a Pit Bull, and even though *I* know he just a big puddle of love, in general people are afraid of him. So, I told the kids to stay put (they're usually very good about listening, unusually so for their ages) and ran after him. When I got back, my older child was gone... and my younger said she didn't want to be late for school. All the way to school, no sign. Luckily she had made it no problem, but for awhile I about died.

my scariest moment just happened to me this last June when I had my son. The night that he was born I was alone in my room and I was rocking him in my lap (and you know how tired a person can be after giving birth right?) Anyway I looked down at him one minute and he was fine and I looked down at him a few minutes later and he was blue in the face. He had gotten some amniotic fluid caught in his airway and couldn't get it out. The nurses saved his life, but that was the scariest ten minutes of my life not knowing weather or not my son was going to be o.k.

When my boys were younger(2 and 4)..we had this huge 8 ft wall unit with a big heavy tv,books, stereo system, movies, etc in it. This thing was HUGE. One day my kids and i were sitting on the floor in front of it and opened the bottom door to look for a movie and the entire thing started to lean to the side. I knew what was about to happen so i pushed my 2 yr old outta the way and the thing fell on top of my 4 yr old and myself. We were pinned. Our heads were facing each other and both my kids were screaming. I tried so hard to lift it but couldn't and finally my adrenaline just took over and i lifted it but i couldn't get my son out. I ran to the phone to call 911 but i couldnt. i was in such shock that all i could do was press speed dial. it was my mom and i couldnt even talk, i just made this weird noise. she knew something was wrong and called 911. I finally got the center off my son right before the ambulance arrived. Luckily he was hardly scratched! Needless to say, we don't buy entertainment centers anymore! :)

My scariest moment that turned out ok has to be in the year 2004. My youngest child was just born and we were sitting downstairs on the couch breastfeeding, when I look out the window and see a small child fall out of the window!! Keep in mind I have 2 other children, a 5 year old with blonde hair and a 4 year old with brown hair and they where both upstairs being extremely quiet. Well the child that fell out the window went head first with blonde hair. I throw my newborn down on the couch and go running to the back yard. I look down at the floor expecting blood or broken bones and even death, to find it was my daughters My-Size Barbie she had dressed in her clothes and chucked it out the window. I look up to find my two sweet little angles in mid discussion "She trevor.. it doesn't hurt...jump!!" I turned into momzilla and shouted for the window to be closed and they get their butts downstairs for a few choice words with mom. When my daughter closed the window she didn't bother to wait for my son to bring his head in the window...so now he is choking. I run up the stairs and open the window. He only had a red mark from the window on his neck but other then that no scratches and everything intact for now! Thats my story, its funny now but not so funny at the time. To this day, they have yet to ever open that window again and I threw away that my size doll that afternoon. Oh and the baby was fine too..lol.

We (my family) were at a soccer game for my oldest son. We were watching him and my dad decided to play with my two year old. Well, he didnt tell us when he stopped, and none of us were paying attention. All of a sudden, I realize my dad was back and my son wasnt. I have no idea where he went and I couldnt find him anywhere. There were people everywhere because there are 8 soccer fields out there at the same place and my son was no where to be found. My heart pounded and I felt like I couldnt breathe. After about 2 minutes (that felt like eternity), we spotted him stuck under some bleachers and he couldnt get out. Thank GOD we found him safe and sound.

Oh how scary!! Mine was when I lost my 2 year old at Epcot in Florida. My husband crossed the street to watch the parade (our 2 older children, ages 7 & 9, were in it) and she followed him. I thought he knew she was behind him but he didn't. He thought she was with me. When the parade was over he came back without her. I asked where she was & then we both about had a heart attack. I went to the nearest employee & gave them a description & everyone started looking for her. It was about 10 minutes before we found her. She was with another parent in the group that we were there with - they were looking for us. I cried so hard & my heart was beating so hard I thought it was going to jump out of my chest.
The other was last summer when my 2 year old was in the pool with me. He was playing & I walked to the other side of the pool to get something. Turned around and he was floating face down in the water (his brother had pushed him under). I ran across the pool & picked him up. He wasn't breathing but started again as soon as I picked him up. I almost had a heart attack again! SO SCARY!! Glad everything turned out ok for you today.

I was flying a plane and I overshot the runway and was heading out over water at stall speed wtih the stall horn going off, not picking up speed, going too slow even to turn, and I looked up and saw trees ahead of me about a thousand feet. I finallly remembered to raise flaps and scraped by above the trees.
