Ignore the angry above answer she doesn't know what she is talking about...

Ritalin can take some time to work... be patient. I myself was put on Ritalin as a child and through to my early teens. It was the best thing my parents could have done for me. I started going better in school and my social skills improved. Good luck to you and your child and like I said just be patient :)

I think it is not working for him because it was meant to do damage and not good. A lot of deception and deliberate malice exists in the field of medicine and health care. Tom Cruise may have his quirks, but I believe that he knows what he is talking about when he says that Ritalin is no good.

It is really a stimulant. Why else is it such a potent and popular street drug among young people only slightly older than 7 years of age?

If the drug alters a child's personality to the point where the child is no longer himself or herself, is it necessarily good?

I think you should not be afraid to ask questions and that you should seek a lot of advice from different sources.

All the best!

It depends which type he is on. Alot of my patients have had great results with Ritalin LA. It is an 8hr long lasting pill that to me works very well. It is automatic as soon as it enters the system. I would check with your Dr. and tell him/her your concerns about no change. You may need to up the dose. Good Luck!

I wont go into why I think you are an _____ and a horrible parent.

I think you already know that. If anything doesn't SEEM like a good idea concerning YOUR CHILDREN and you, at all have to, labor over, contemplate, fear, consider it or think about it for more than a few minutes.... In the future... don't do it.

What's wrong with you people?

I deleted what I think you are so that you don't have a good enough reason to run back to yahoo and report me for telling you what you already suspect of yourself over your own actions...

Solitude
By: Edwin McCain.

Listen to this... your son can sing it to you someday.

Tim he was a good friend
Yeah was a brother of mine
We were imaginary comic book super heroes
Kids wasting time
We were prisoners of our youth
We were growing up strong
'Til the day he was taken away
For something he did wrong

Tim came 'round just the other day
And boy he had some stories to tell
His mama kept him locked up in a rehab
Although the doctors said he was well
He said yeah I been through the anger
And the hatred towards my mom
And I put all that behind me
Just tell me what was it like to go to your prom

He said thank you mom for fixing
My clouded broken mind
But excuse me if I seem a little rude
While I was missing my childhood, my brother and my prime
You enjoyed the convenience of my solitude

Well growing up these days just ain't easy
And the kids they're doing the best that they can
So mama you better think twice
Before you lock your kid up and throw away the key
'Cause soon your little boy is gonna be a man

He said thank you mom for fixing
My clouded broken mind
But excuse me if I seem a little rude
While I was missing my childhood, my brother and my prime
You enjoyed the convenience of my solitude

Tim left town yesterday
He left me with these words
He said yeah I know this life's got a lot to give
But my childhood is gone
And I'm not afraid of dying
I'm gonna grab the world by the horns and learn how to live

He said thank you mom for fixing
My clouded broken mind
But excuse me if I seem a little rude
While I was missing my childhood, my brother and my prime
You enjoyed the convenience of my solitude
