can lithium take up to 6 months to theraputically work in the system? i was on lithium carbonae 300 mg for 3 months and swithched to lithium eskalith 450 mg and i dnt know if i have noticed too mch of a change.

Lithium is serious medication. I'd say more if it was something simple like aspirin you're talking about. Give your doctor a call since they best know you, the proper dosage and how to change it to make it most effective for you. Not every treatment will work for every individual, so you may have to try a few different perscriptions to get what works for you.

That is something your doctor and blood tests can tell you. There is a thereputic range for lithium. You should have blood tests done regularly to make sure it is working and that you don't become toxic.
