He is waiting for you to give a response. Enjoy the conversation, enjoy the company, soak it up and relish it.
Then make an honest choice to yourself if you feel something for him. If you don't, then say, "hey, I feel as if you have feelings for me,I don't return those feelings". But I respect you, like you, and want to remain friends".
You obviously have feelings for this man, or you wouldn't be asking questions. It's touchy, fragile, and up in the air, I know, so approach cautiously but honestly. Honesty will not hurt you, but help. Tell him, not completely, but give him a hint.

I would say yes they are signs that he wants to know you better but to what extent i can't say. Try talking with him after class, at lunch or even go get a soda someplace and find out what is he wants/ likes about you. Invite him over to help fix the car, mow the grass etc. Believe me if he is interested in you then he will want to be with you no matter what it is that you do.
