I just think it may be a cost-cutting measure. I can't remember the last time the server actually asked what dip I wanted. After I receive the bag I always have to tell them.

Taylor29: I'm wondering, is your idea of customer service, anything thats just below giving the customer "great trauma"?

What can you expect for 5 bucks an hour?

Sorry you are mistaken.

McDonald's has always had a zero tolerance rule on anything that might be seen as good customer service.

In fact you know those stars the staff get as a 'reward' system well its actually given for reducing a customer to tears.

Anyway the whole issue of choice regarding dips was something that slipped under the McDonald's management radar for many years. When It finally came to light they were quick to amend the new employee training with strict instructions 'The customer has no choice. The customer is McDonald's b***h' This is now the official employee mantra. They do it at the start of the shift, turn around three times (to get dizzy and help mess up your order) then spit once into the food (McDonald's seasoning don't you know)

So there you have it... the choice was an oversight that has now been rectified.

I think what I am trying to say here is...

Why eat that c**p?

Hope that answers your question... if not, oh well it was fun to write!

Thanks for the question!

I agree with you. I went to mcdonalds one night and order the nuggets, they didn't ask me either. I was like do you still serve the sauce or is it a special request. They told me that unless you ask they don't give it to you. I said are you kidding, she said no. Like you I thought that they were supposed to ask. If I didn't say anything I would have left with nothing. I remember when they use to ask you. Now days I think that we pay more to get less.

It was part of the rules before & still is. They are suppose to offer you sauces to go with your nuggets. It's procedure and they have to do it. I used to be a mgr for McD's so they should. But if you gettin' somethin' like fries or a burger etc... they don' offer, but u can ask.

Jst ask, & they shouldn' charge you for extra sauces. IT's not company procedure. If they do say u'll report em to head office. (get em shittin' in their pants. . (lol)

I'm in W. Canada - they ask all the time, they double-ask, then I ask again when I get the bag. I need all the S & S I can.

Not that i know of, it may be that the employees at your MC Donalds havent been trained to ask that question. if you kneed something to dip your MC Nuggets just ask your paying for it after all

No, policy at the drive thru is to ask and then don't put any in the bag. If the customer asks,"Did you put my sauce in there?" You smile and say "Yes". Next car.
