I wouldn't tip the groomer unless (s)he did something very special. Tipping employees is even questionable in dog grooming because they are not an occupation which works for tips. Relating this to a waiter or bartender is not a valid argument; waiters, bartenders, and some other service providers rely entirely on tips for their pay. They often make $2.17/hr in their paycheck.

When the owner of a buisness is doing the work like in a hair salon or grooming business I think it is reasonable to not tip. They make 100% of what you pay, whereas an employee only gets a tiny fraction.

Owner of grooming business/private business: don't tip unless you really love what they did.

Employee: tip 10+% unless they made a mistake like cut the dogs quick.

yes. grooming a poodle is hard work. and if your dog looks beatful when the groomer is finished then yes tip them, no matter if they own the shop or not. tip who ever groomed the dog.

Did the groomer do a greally good job on your poodle? You're tipping for the service received, who owns the place is totally immaterial.

If you go to a Beauty Salon you usually DO NOT tip the owner. I guess it would be the same for a dog grooming place.

why not, dont u tip ur hairdresser, the waiter and the barmaid for there services. just because he owns it , doesnt mean he's rolling in money. after all , he has to buy the supplies he uses, probably a license ans insurance to have permission to do the work by the city and/or state. yes i'd say yes.

yes, probably about $5-$8. But don't if they did a bad job.

No, not if he is the owner. It's the same as a beauty salon. The owner doesn't get tips.
