I'm not English (American) but I did travel around France with a few people who were from England. It was my first time travelling to France and I didn't know what to expect...I mean, I knew it was going to be beautiful but from the way people talked you do expect the French to hate you. It is not true. I met the friendliest people while I was there and had a great time. My English friends had a great time also so I expect that they did not hate the French. The media usually is awful when it comes to things like this....all they are looking for is to make money.......lets see if I can put it in the words of my English teacher "Whats sad is that if I went out in the hall and yelled 'fight!' the kid that is always late for class could be at the other end of the building and be there in a second...now, if I went out and yelled 'Everyone is getting along!' people would just pass me by or look at me like I was crazy"....lol, well he said something to that nature. I hoped I helped!

Its English love not Englanders, and yeah some of us dont like the French basically because they've never actually met 1. Those of use who have have no grudge against them, except maybe people from Paris as when ever I've been there they have been on the whole a bit rude and arrogant, but I think thats true of people from any major city in a country. People in London, Sydney and New York all have the same sort of vibe about them I think its because they are just constantly in a rush.

But if you are French worried about going to the UK dont be, other than a bit of friendly banter you'll be more than welcome, the guys will love the accent ;-) but make sure you dont spend the whole time in London!!

What TV are you watching ?
Is it something that they show in america ?
Oh, and we are English by the way, not Englanders, please. That is a word for the comic books that children read.
We are renowned for our tolerance and although we have a friendly rivalry with the French, they are most welcome over here.
Many English live there, including friends of mine and they lead an amusing, enjoyable life and were warmly welcomed in their new home town.
In a few weeks time I am off across the water to La Belle France, where they will laugh at my poor language skills and feed me excellent food, a fair swap I think.

Even the French Nationals dislike Parisians. Personally I love the spirit of the French Nation and it is a beautiful country too. And just for the record I am English

I think there was/ is a general divide between the two countries but having said that I have always found them to be extremely friendly and likable people as have many English to the point of moving to France.

Get closer to home first...The English and the Welsh are famed for hating each-other. The French have a history of being cowards, where war is concerned. Maybe that's where you're getting it from.

as an english person i can't say i dislike anyone because of where they come from. It's called prejudice, and i would like to think us english are above it. So if TV says we dont like each other, i hope they are wrong

The differences between us are what draw us closer together.
Many 'Englanders' (English, please), travel to France on a regular basis, and are the biggest buyers of property in that country.
I have several French relations.
