I live in Australia and recently applied for the defence force im going on basic training and straight after that im goin to be shipped to Iraq
My gf doesn't want me to go as she thinks it is dangerous and stuff!!!
I really want to go and defend my country and the people i love what should i do?????

Man, I really hate to see you lose all you have just because you think going "over there" is honorable and will be defending your country. Guys who are there want out and those who were once there, never want to go back in... and for a damn good reason
Save yourself while you still can and listen to your girlfriend. You have a long life ahead of you and dying for the cause of an administration because they label it as "defense" is no way to go... it is NOT the noble way whether you agree or not
Ultimately, the decision is up to you. I will let you get to it

Do what your heart tells you to do? Don't do it to be a hero, do it because deep down you want this more than anything. My whole family is military and my ex husband was in desert storm. Yes it was hard for me to let him go, but he felt a strong need to help hi country and help his friends over there. I had to let him make up his own mind, but I told him make sure that you are doing it for the right reasons!

Go, slaughter some towel heads, live the life and enjoy, plus when you get back there will be odozens of fitter babes than this whining pacifist ***** who will want to be humped by a war hero. Go for it, or live a life regretted.
