Personally, I am completely against them but that's not why I'm here....Does anyone know who came up with abortions or who invented them or whatever you would call it? Or do you know where I might be able to find it?

Abortions have been around since women have been getting pregnant. It's a natural human behaviour. There is evidence that dates back to 'old testament' biblical times. Abortions were also preformed by early Christians and Jews. Funny, how there is not a word of abortion being condemned in the bible though.

Abortion has been around since the Romans ,,,, They use to use sticks to break the fluid and abort the child , that was used all the way up o the 1930's they used the branch of a slippery elm , seems that the sap helped abort ,, also at times it caused death in the Mother .

The practice of induced abortion, according to some anthropologists, can be traced to ancient times. There is evidence to suggest that, historically, pregnancies were terminated through a number of methods, including the administration of abortifacient herbs, the use of sharpened implements, the application of abdominal pressure, and other techniques.

completely against them? well that's an extreme comment. I ask... if your 13-14 year old daughter was brutally raped by some thug are you suggesting she carry the baby to term then give birth , then have the added trauma 9 months later of having to give it away. or worse still keep it as her own and have to look in its eyes every day and be reminded of its father.

To freak you out - historically, they believed that the soul did not take complete root within a body for several days after birth - post-partum abortions were permitted for I *think* it was two days after birth.

check wikipedia. Personally I think people should have the right to have abortions. (rape victims, people who can't afford children, underage people)

Some sick, pathetic excuse of a man did so he wouldn't have to help take care of the child, or be forced to marry her.... or to keep his wife from finding out.
