I just had a new nephew in June and as a baby gift we bought him a savings bond. I plan on giving a bond for birthday and Christmas. Kids get so many toys and clothes, this is a good investment for their future. I work for a bank so I can tell you that a $50 series EE bond will cost you $25. They take several years to mature, but will be matured and earned some interest when he gets ready to drive a car or go to college. Wish someone had done that for my kids!!!

Don't waste your money on toys or clothes...they grow out of both so quickly. If you really want to buy something.... make it financial.... Buy a savings bond for her. Or even buy 100 shares of some stock.... give her a future not toys... mom and dad will even like that! But if you are too young to do the stock thing a savings bond is always good. Stop at any bank to get details.....

A tazer, WHY? Because when i was watching my first birthdays video film the other day. What i had noticed that everybody was giving me presents and when somebody tried touching or opening a present for me id scream and try and grab that present.
So in conclusion, my point is, if any sh*t goes down with the baby's toys, she can deal with the matter.

Depending on how much you want to spend, premium bonds that you can buy from any uk post office are a good investment,as they could win her money,as they are drawn every month.Any money she wins could then be put in a savings account for when she is older or perhaps towards her education,eg;University. If you want to get a gift as well, any learning toys will be appropriate.

Get her something for her bottom draw and do the same thing every year. By the time shes old enough to move out she'll have all the stuff she will need to set up home.

Buy her a really cute outfit. That way she'll look cute. Or go to toys r us and buy her a really cool toy that she'll have fun with and that can teach her something. That's what I would do. Fisher price has all kinds of stuff like that.

Chunky (thick pages) picture books. Little ones love bed time stories, but the sturdy books are best as at that age they just rip the pages of thin pages books.
