I have sat with my legs crossed my whole life and nothing bad has happend.
It is true that if you sit for long periods of time without moving you will cut off your circulation and your legs will fall asleep.
Most people notice this long before the legs go 100% usless and uncross them.
If you find you are not noticing the tingling and pins and needles sensations that signal when your legs are starting to fall asleep then you will want ot get to a doctor as you may have circulation problems.
Other wise there is not harm in crossing your legs. Keeps you limber.

I actually just read an article about this that it is a myth, that you get varicose veins from crossing your legs. it said that it is fine to sit like this and if your leg gets numb just switch to the other. So don't worry.

It can cause hip problems. Make a conscious effort not to cross your legs. You can cross your ankles.

uncross where you can and cross only for short periods.
