CTI is the Navy Linguist rating. It is the only rating where you are guarenteed training in a language. Currently you must score at least a 100 on the DLAB to be eligible for CTI. They are mainly looking for Arabic, Farsi, Urdu and Korean linguists. You don't get to choose which one, they do.

If you speak another language, you can request to take the Foreign Language Proficiency test. depending on your score, you may rate extra pay each month and be called on to do translating as needed, but it will not be your primary NEC/Rating.

CTI requires a Clearance, and you must be a Citizen.

Any linguist job....

The AF is actually hurting for Airborne Linguist. Dont know if you are already in the Navy but it may be something to look into. But be warned the training is about 2 years long.

The U.S. Coast Guard...I would think that they need persons who speak Spanish, Cuban, and other foreign languages. A friend of mine loves working for the USCG. Best wishes.

You probably want to look at the IS rating (intelligence specialist), they usually conduct interrogations or translate messages.
