You obviously want to bury your pain. You feel the best way is for you to act like this relationship never happened. OK, destroy it all. Then you still have to deal with the pain. You have invested 4 years. OK, it went bad. OK, he hurt you. OK, that all happened. Now what? Deal with the hurt. Put the things away for a while, and then wait to destroy everything. Once you get rid of it all, well you may regret it. But I really think that you should print up the email, delete them, store everything in a box, and put it in storage and open it back up when you are 80 years old. Love is risk, life is risk, and you will look back and remember that someone loved you once, and you may be surprised at your reaction down the road.

You can keep them if you want to continue to torching yourself over a failed relationship or you can be an adult and get rid of them. However do it symbolically- by lightening a fireplace or (campfire in a safe place) and throwing all the letters, photos etc in and say a "prayer, chant" to the "gods" of relationship that the past be done and I will from this day foreword regret no more and cry no more over this FOOL who broke my heart (that is if he did). As for the teddies (sleeping clothes), clothes give them away to the needy or burn them too. The teddy bears I would give to the police to give to children they run across that are in pain, are hurt and affected by tragedy. They will always be grateful for your gift and you will believe it or not heal from this pain knowing that you helped someone else. Now for the pics and E-mails Delete them and get on with your happy future and not live in the past. Good luck!

After 3 years together & engaged, we seperated. I put everything in a big plastic tub and shoved it in the shed. Its good to go through cos i remember all the 'good' memories, but then all the 'bad' ones come to mind and it makes me realise im so much better off without him. Other wise I'd forever be thinking 'should we be together'.I reckon put it out of mind-out of sight, go run a muck, then one day you will enjoy reading through it all, believe me, once you throw them out you cant get them back, and that will send You crazy. Wish I'd kept my school sweet hearts letters/ teddies. All the best!

Of what value are they to you now? However, you may wish to hold on to them a while longer, just in case the two of you get back together again. And things likes teddies [stuffed animals, etc.], you can give to a friend, or donate to a charity.

If you find them hard to get rid of why not put them in the loft, and get rid of them at a later date when you feel better. Also it would be a good idea to get rid of them as a new partner may not be happy with them.

put them in a box(put the box in a bag just in case u want to go back for it) and bury it. That way, its out of sight, and if you want to remember later on or something, go get the stuff.

no. If you have something in writing that could be used against them in the future, like if they ever run for political office, then you better put it in a safe-deposit box.
