it could be your period but if it last for more than two weeks i suggest you go to the doctor.

If you haven't started your period yet, you could very soon. I'm 22 and I had my first period when I was 12 years old. I think I went through the same thing you are going through. I felt kinda weird for a few weeks and then one day I just started my period. You'll know it's your period because it will be a reddish/browish color. Usually a period will last about a week and then you get it every month till you reach your 40's or 50's. It can vary. If your period doesn't come though and you still feel sick, you should probably see a doctor.

Your 12 years old and your body is starting to change in many ways.

Try not to be scared, I know you probably have a lot of questions. It is normal for this age to start having your period.

Some signs of your period being just around the corner are. Stomach cramps, diarrhea, sore breast, lower back pains, face breaking out, and being emotional.

If you have any of these symptoms then it probably is your period.

For the next few days carry some pads in your nap sack.
Just in case you might start and you will be prepared.

Also, just talk to your mom about it.

I am sure she can answer any questions you have and it also makes her that she is there for you when you need her and when your scared.

You can also go to the Library and read up on it.

First of all, are you sexually active? If you are, you could be pregnant. Your body was born with all the eggs you're ever going to have, so just because you haven't officially gotten your period yet, I would say that if you ARE sexually active, you could have beaten it to the punch so to speak.

If you are not sexually active, it could be the onset of menstruation. I would suggest talking to an adult. If you can't talk to your mom or dad, how about a friends mom or a teacher at school/guidance counselor or someone else you trust? Stay away from kids your own age for this type of information. They know as little as you do. If you are embarrassed about talking about these types of things with people you know, I would suggest contacting a Planned Parenthood and asking some questions there. Also, you have a computer, so you could do some searches to find out more.

Unfortuntely, you didn't give enough information fore me to tell you any more than this.

If you are having sex, please use protection, not only to prevent pregnncy, but also to prevent diseases such as herpes and AIDS. If you don't know what these are, look em up!!

Ask your mom how her first few periods were, because that is often how yours will be. My mom's first was fine (no pain or anything) but after that she always got really bad cramps the first day. Mine was EXACTLY the same. So odds are however your mom was, you will be too. She's going to be your best resource when you start getting periods. I know it's not cool to talk to your mom now, but believe me when you're 20 you're going to look back at this and laugh thinking, "why didn't I just ask my mom?"

If your mom isn't part of your life (i'm sorry) talk to an aunt or grandma...or even a teacher or mentor. An adult woman that you trust. It's important to have that kind of relationship with some older woman not only for period stuff but for life stuff. Some day you're going to want to talk to someone about boys, birth control, drugs, God, school, college...don't get into the habit of only looking for help on the internet. We don't know you like your mom/grandma/aunt/ does. They will stick with you throughout life and be a good support for you for life.

Good luck and congradulations, you're becoming a woman!

About 2 weeks. When I got my period it was much worse. I got it at Summer Camp. My mom wasn't there to help me. I had really bad cramps and I couldn't eat for 3 days straight. But I was prepared. If your mom is there to help you you will do just fine. If you go to a public school, bring an extra pair of shorts or pants. And bring pads! It's scary at first, but you will get used to it. And think about it. You wil be a woman! Good Luck!

Your period is most likely on its way! If the pains continue for more then 3weeks with out a period you should talk to your mother about a doctors visit. It may be a very personal issue, and very hard to discuss but it will be for the best!

Probably until you hit menapause! The only thing I hate about my period is...I only feel NORMAL for about a week out of the month...first I have PMS so bad sometimes I just lay there with the heating pad on my stomach...then of course there's the week of the period..and the week after...I feel okay..and then..pms starts all over again... welcome to womanhood...your best friend should always bring chocolate...

yes, i would say it was probably your periods starting, as you are reaching the age of puberty, if it does not stop go to your Dr. just to make sure, if it is your periods you may experience some form of discharge, dont worry it is perfectly normal.
Good Luck!!!
