A born-again Christian is someone who has repented of their sins and turned to Christ for their salvation, and as a result has become part of God's family forever. All this takes place as God's Spirit works in our lives.
You see, by nature we aren't members of God's family, and we don't have any right to inherit eternal life. The reason is because of our sin. We have rebelled against God, and because of that, the Bible says, we are "separated from the life of God ... due to the hardening of (our) hearts" (Ephesians 4:18). No, you may not see yourself as a bad person (and you probably aren't)—but in God's eyes even one sin is enough to keep you out of heaven.
But Jesus Christ came to save us and to make us part of His family forever! He did this by dying for our sins on the cross and by conquering death through His resurrection. You see, as a human being you were born into a family—and nothing can ever change that. But when we come to Christ we are spiritually reborn into another family—the family of God. The Bible says to Christ's followers, "You have been born again ... through the living and enduring word of God" (1 Peter 1:23).
My prayer is that you too may be born again and become part of God's family. By a simple prayer of faith, tell God that you know you are a sinner, and you are sorry for your sins. Then ask Christ to come into your life and save you. When you do, God will come to live within you by His Spirit, and you will be born again.

When Nicodemus came to Christ and Christ was explaing to him that a man must be born again, he asked Christ, "how can a man enter the second time in his mothers womb." Christ told him "You must be born from above" (The King James Bible has a bad translation for this as it does other verses) Christ explained to him "you must be born of the water and the spirit". Please get a Strongs Concorrandence to study the Bible. The Strongs takes the words in the Bible and goes back to the Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic languages for the proper meaning of the words in the Bible. When King James had the Bible translated for him, knowledge was not as advanced as it is today. With the discovery of writings and other historic items we can give a better translation. Also if you have a study Bible that trys to help you with understanding, it will have a note inside the front cover stating that all translatios in the bible you are using must be checked for accuracy.

when he means, "Born again", he doesn't mean, born again as in going back up momma's u-know-wat at comin' out again!
He literally means begining a new life by starting out different-with him!
here's my answer 4 a guy who wondered why Jesus' death was important. It should help u undrstand.
Have a bible on ya?
If u don't know how 2 use a bible, get ur grandma (; or sum 1 who knows how, or just read...
romans 3:23 says "For the wages of sin is death"
That means that is u sin, basically, you die.
Here, I looked up sin, and here's what my dictionary says:
Verb: Sin, Sinned, Sinning
commit a faux pas or fault
Synonyms: blunder, goof (Literally!)
Ever heard of the adam and eve story?
You know, the one about the naked guy and gal in the bible.
adam and eve were real.
They "sinned"-taking the apple from the tree-and, so, they had a punishment.
You see, just cuz they wanted to please them selves and do what they wanted even though it's wrong, they HAD to have a punishment.
let's read on.
romans 3:24
yet God in his glorious standard declares us NOT GUILTY.
ok, wassup wid dat?!
read on...
he hs done this thourgh CHRIST JESUS by taking away our sins.
(Or, by dying on the "cross")
Ok, so, now u say, so, just because we were naughty boys and girls, we have to die, but god died for us. I still don't get it.
God knew what we did was wrong. So, he sent his son, so we all don't have to die for doing bad stuff.
I hope that's not too simple.
Jesus' death wuz the most important death IN HISTORY because he took (literally!) all the bad stuff that ever would happen and has happend on his shoulders...
...For us.
If that's not awesome, I don't know what 2 tell ya.
anymore questions? Go 2 ur nearest church.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
It means to accepet Jesus as your savior, by acknowledting that He died on the cross for your sins. That you repent of your sins, and turn your life over to Him. You then no longer have the right to do what you want with your life, but obey Jesus and serve Him.
1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
Being born again is what is considered the circumsision of the soul from the body. The soul belongs to Jesus once you invite Him into your heart and life, and accept Him as your savior. You begin a new life with Jesus, and leave you old sinful lifestyle and ways behind you. Before you accept Jesus as your savior, you are actually the property and child of the deviil, and salvaton through accepeting Jesus as your savior is when you are adopted into the God's family, and no longer the child of the devil.
John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
It is a spiritual re birth from the darkness of sin which the penalty of that is death, to eternal life through accepting Jesus as your savior, and escaping that death. Praise the Lord!

unquestionably, you have it backwards. Salvation is an consequence of being born back. apart from, being born back is the beginning up of the flexibility of sanctification. Catholics connect salvation to sanctification; maximum Protestants connect salvation to the preliminary journey. We Lutherans have slightly extra complicated view wherein the Sacraments and preaching of the notice toughen one yet another by the believer's lifetime for salvation. OT believers have been born back by baptism of choose, purely with the aid of fact the thief on the go become.

It means to be a new person, not to be that sinner or mean no good person you once was, you are baptized in water and come up new all things old are gone, your sins are forgotten, the baptizem represents dieing, so the old man is dead,In Christ, and risen a new person.

The Christians that have truly been "reborn" have had a total turn around in their way of thinking about life. Our lives are now based on following Jesus Christ and His commandment.

"What does it mean to be 'born again'"-------"Dwija" means "Born Again"-But said by Rk Vedam 6000 years before John. The Mother(Maatha) and Father(Pita) make a child physically from "Avyaktham"(not to be seen) to "Vyaktham "( to be seen)-a child is born.Guru(Teacher) and Daivam (Divinity) make the child intellectually from Avvyaktham to Vyakthvam by "Initiation"(Upa-Nayanam),in the benign presence of Biological Parents(Maatha-Pita-Guru-Daivam)"Born Again".Now a days a solemn and simple ceremoney associated with Dwija(Born Again) is done with a lot of pomp and pleasure spending thousands of Dollars by the Hindus!!!!

it means that you are born again.
You where born to human parents....now you are born to God family.
Many bible scriptures acknowlegde this..
It is based on John 3"16 how it goes to talk about how to do that is beliving on the Son of God...the bible continues that thought and the rewards of that...like Heir, Son,,,etc,
