If an expiration date is given then throw it out after the date stated.
It's there for a reason.

Yes. Just rub it through a sieve if it is lumpy.
Its mostly sugar which preserves stuff so its OK. If it is really old it may have lost some flavour but if it is in a pack you're fine.

Frosting is relatively cheap. I would throw it out. Why risk getting sick?
