I think it's "normal" if you felt strongly for the person and were rejected & felt bad.
I think it's "common" for people to feel bad after being rejected as well-too common.
If you're feeling bad about being rejected by someone who didn't really matter too much, then that's a problem. You have a fear of rejection, & you need to be strong and feel like things are OK & that you can find someone who suits you more. It may be hard, but try and have that mindset.
EDIT: I guess the fact that you would be asking in the first place would not mean that you have some great fear of rejection, however, it may mean that you are not as confident in yourself as you should be.

Sure. But you can be hurt when asking a friend to lend you something and they say no! Anytime we think we have or may have or may like to have a certain type of relationship with someone and it turns out that they are in a different place, you can feel hurt. But the feelilngs that come also go, so don't worry about it. Keep living and enjoying your life.

Yes, of course! No-one likes rejection, it can make us feel hurt, humiliated and rejected... We then ask ourselves silly questions like 'What's wrong with me?' or 'What can i change to make them like me?'... In actual fact ladies, as i'm sure most would agree it should be the complete opposite, it should be us thinking 'Oooohh, nahhh... I'm worth more than that!' or 'No, guess i can do better, slight slip into the dregs but i'm over that now' .... Never beat yourself up over rejection, if they can't see how lovely you are, and how much you are worth, then they are so.... not worth it themselves!! You want someone who will love you unconditionally, someone who will never let you down, and someone who will always make you smile! If they don't fill all three, then don't waste your time on them! The best ones are found when your not looking... that nice guy that helped you pick up your dropped change at the shops, would beat any guy that thinks he's the bee's knees hands down! Look for people that will help you unconditionally, someone who doesn't look for things in return... someone who deserves you, and not the other way around!

No, you need some medical help, I think people are kidding you when they say it is normal. It invariably leads to many forms of mental illness so I think you either antidepressants or therapy very soon.

Yes. But don't take it too personally. I'm sure you are an amazing, beautiful person and the guy just wasn't right for you.

Of course. Rejection, in any form, is a painful experience. You hang yourself out there, and get shot down. That hurts.
But you will get over it.
