I get tired of getting responses by "Christians" who say things like,"This doesn't show the love of Christ" and such. I guess you never read the bible, Christ didn't walk around blubbering over non-believers, He called the Pharisee a bunch of vipers, accused them of having Satan for a father, and called Herod a "old fox". To us these may seem mild, but in those times these insults were intense. So you Candy Christians had better learn what "The Love of God" really means, it isn't handing out fuzzy bear statements to people who hate God and hate Christianity. The truth is the truth, dipping it in chocolate doesn't change the fact that it is still the truth.

farien, being called a fox, or an old fox, didn't have anything to do with cunning. It had everything to do with being a theif and a liar. Learn biblical history.

Amen!

Don't forget when He called the Caananite woman a dog (Matthew 15:26).

God does not play when it comes to sin. It's about worshipping the Lord, not about making ourselves feel good.

Thank you for pointing it out. I get so fed up with this feel good Christianity which isn't helping anyone and is really only serving Satan.

If you think Jesus never went blubbering over nonbelievers, look at this!

Luke 19:41-44 (New International Version)
41As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it 42and said, "If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes. 43The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. 44They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God's coming to you."

Yes, Jesus sometimes spoke harshly. However, he often spoke and acted with compassion, such as with the woman caught in adultery. He saved her life, didn't condemn her, and let her go with a warning! Jesus also speaks convivially, not harshly, to Zacchaeus the thieving tax collector, and it changes the man's heart! Jesus' occasional harsh speaking is no excuse for Christians to speak harshly constantly to unbelievers or to critics!

BTW, it seems that Jesus most of the times saves his harsh words for the rich and powerful and esteemed, such as the Pharisees and King Herod. Can Christians say the same about their harsh words?

i somewhat do no longer comprehend how someone can say that in case you do not trust contained in the trinity (invented on the council of Nicea in 325 A.D.) that you're not to any extent further a christian. Juses changed into no longer a trinitarian, it changed into by no skill coined till three hundred years After Jesus (supply or take many years) time. it really is a man made doctrine and opposite to the completed new and previous testomony. Now, to the question handy. Mormons have their "own" bible that they imagine is more beneficial to the Bible. it really is what makes them "no longer christian". a minimum of Islam admits a distinction. their own e book, their own chief, and both take the diety of Jesus and slam him. A Christian is someone who's talked about with Christ in death, burial and resurection. To the point. A Follower of christ and confesses that he's LORD , it somewhat is an identical as GOD. search for this scripture Genesis 27:20 KJV who's the Lord? Genesis 27:20 KJVA Exodus 8:10 NAS there are various verses that say the Lord is God. Mormons and J.W.'s deny this, only as islam does

He had good reason to call the Pharisees and Herod what he did. However, did he refer to people just wandering around like that?? He accepted the lepers, tax collectors, and other rejects of soceity. You can ignore all the verses about love that you want to. You probably enjoy reading Jonathan Edwards. By the way, I follow the TRUE Christ.

I have to state that I agree with your assessment.

Christ throwing the money changers out of the temple was not a pacifist move! Cursing that fig tree was not speaking sweet nothings! Telling his buddy, Saint Peter, "Get behind me Satan" was not necessarily an enduring warm and fuzzy moment for Peter! Yikes.

He was ticked off. Righteously of course, but still ticked off.

Thanks be to God!

My approach was may he have the same open arms I do and I must learn not from a book or persons but from him or god, god willing.

We can debate what is right and wrong etc but there is only ONE way to find out. Be true be Just and ask,.

You make good points, but your mentioning people who 'hate god' shows your ignorance. No one 'hates God', the simply do not believe there IS a God or Gods. In order to hate a thing, you have to believe in it's existance first.

P.S 'Old Fox' in those days meant someone clever and devious. It was not an 'intense' insult.

I hate it even more when non-Christians or atheists say that the message of Christ is love thy neighbor and nothing else of importance. They piss me off because they try to use things they dont even believe in to show us that we are hypocrites. Funny thing is....we know we're sinners! Do they think we become perfect when we become Christians?

now wait a minute. The pharasies were the most religious of the bunch. it was not the non belivevers who he called vipers, it was the ones who had the appearance of Religion, but were leading the masses astray, and ripping them off.

Jesus didn't become politically correct the last 25 years.
He doesn't tolerate ANY sin.
He does forgive.
I'm a Christian.
