If there is not a grandmother ; aunt or someone close you can turn to - Ask your school nurse for help and explain your situation . First let your mom know that you want some help with this because you are uncomfortable .. Give her one more chance to look your hair over . Lice is a problem that can be taken care of ; so there's no logical reason for your mom to be angry with you . Maybe she was embarrassed in front of friends or in public-I can't imagine a mother yelling about something you have no control over . On the other hand -maybe you have a bad case of dandruff . Tell mom you'd like to try some :"Head & Shoulders " shampoo ( if it turns out to be dandruff ) . I believe lice can be seen on your comb or brush -and apparently recognizeable . Show it to your mom-if you can ( in private ) .Good luck . Don't worry .

How do you know you have lice?
If you go to your school nurse and she confirms it, DO NOT use a lice champoo. Lice are becoming immune to the pesticides in these because so many people are using them.
Instead, massage mayonnaise, olive oil, or baby oil into your hair until it's completely aturated, cover it with a shower cap or saran wrap, and then wait an hour (or two, just to be safe). It'll take a couple of shampoos to get the oils out, but the lice will all be suffocated. Use a lice comb to get out the dead lice, and a nit comb to get out all the eggs. Wait a week and repeat this to kill any new lice that might've hatched from eggs that you missed. This technique is the one doctors reccomend most, and when I caught lice from the daycare where I worked I did this and it did wonders ( makes your hair all soft too).

Go to your school nurse or a doctor or a hair stylist. Let them check you and if they say that you have lice then tell them to write your mom a note. If you do have lice then you should go to the doctor and ask for a special shampoo that gets rid of lice. The other stuff doesn't kill the eggs it just gets rid of the lice but if you don't kill the eggs then the lice will come right back. So good luck!! :-)

No mother wants to beleive their child has lice, it makes them feel like a bad mom. So find a way to get lice shampoo at any cost, your own money maybe, but if that doesn't work pick out a bug from your hair and show her, or do what you can to convince her. If she still doesn't beleive you, ask to buy some just so you can be sure.

Hey you're old enough to come on and ask our opinion then you are SURELY capable of knowing if that itching in your head is from bugs or a really bad case of dandruff!!! So if your mother is in denial that doesn't mean you need to be too. I'm sure there is a wal mart or some type of store that sells the removal kit for lice so go buy it, use and, "RID" yourself of the itch!!!! Its that simple!

Sounds like your mom is emotional. Who yells about lice? Pathetic. Go buy your own Rit lice removal kit and do it yourself.

Get a note from your school nurse that you are not allowed back in school until the lice are gone.

Go to the school nurse! If you do indeed have lice a note will be sent home to your mother.

Rub your hair on her - maybe that will make her think about it anyhow. Show her exactly why you think you have lice. You can usually find the eggs at the back of your head (near the bottom off your hairline) and near your ears. Show her evidence.
