You have 10 bags. Each bag has ten coins. One of the ten bags is full of counterfit coins. Real coins weigh 10 grams and counterfit coins weigh 9 grams. If you can use a scale only one time how can you determine which bag has the counterfit coins?

First to get it right gets the 10 points!

You can only weigh once, meaning you can only read one weight on the scale. If you keep removing bags thats weighing multiple times.

You have 10 bags of coins with 10 coins in each bag. You don't know which bag has the counterfit coins. You want to find out which bag it is. The coins are identicle in looks exept for the weight. There is a logical solution.

You will need to do the following:

1) Mark the bags from 1 to 10.

2) Make each of the bags have the number of coins that is the same as their bag number. i.e, Bag 1 will have 1 coin, Bag 2 will have 2 coins ..... Bag 10 will have 10 coins. So this will mean that you removed 9 coins from Bag 1, 8 coins from Bag 2, and so forth.

3) Put all the bags in the scale and get the weight.

4) Since there are 55 coins in the scale, the weight shouldn't reach 550 grams since there is/are counterfeit coins.

5) To determine the bag with counterfeit coins, subtract the weight in scale from 550. So if the wieght is 549, then 550-549 = 1. This means that the Bag with 1 coin is the bag that originally had all the counterfeit coins. If the weight you get is 540, then the bag with counterfeit coins is Bag 10.

Multi step process
1. Put ALL the bags onto the scale
2. One by one, take the bags off.
3. As you're removing the bags, watch the wieght on the scale
4. As soon as the weight is divisable by 10, you've just removed the bag of counterfeit coins
