I'm getting a sensation surrounding my collarbones that I've never felt before. I'm under a lot of stress.

Stress/anxiiety/depression is something a lot of people do not understand. You know you are under a lot of stress, so you know what that feels like. I think you are asking can stress affect you physically. Most Definitely a big YES. Stress can affect every part of your body, it may start off as an emotional issue, but it can affect every part of your body. I dont know why this happens, I just know it does......from headaches to aches and pains...to actual heart attacks and death.

If your stress is affecting your body then you need to go to the doctors. It is not something to be taken lightly. Dont let it get to the point where you will become incapaciated...the signs are there and you need to do something about it now before any more physical symptoms start to present themselves. Even if it is not the stress that is affecting you physically, you are still experiencing odd sensations somewhere you have never felt it before so a trip to the doctor certainly sounds like it is in order.

For me it can give rise to headaches which sometimes last for days and prove difficult to shift even with medication. It also manifests itself as others have said, as a tightness and feeling of pressure in the chest, which causes me to have shallow breathing. The doctor gave me a good technique to relieve this. Inhale as slowly and deeply as you can. Hold briefly then exhale, also as slowly and fully as you can. Do this half a dozen times in succession and you should feel a lot better. It works for me. another manifestation in some people is tightness in the lower abdomen. It can be a mild form of irritable bowel syndrome. I had this a few years ago and it was painful and worrried me no end. The doctor told me what it was and gave me tablets which cured it. Once I knew it was nothing serious (my mother had died of bowel cancer) I stopped worrying about it and it has never reoccurred as badly since.
Which suggests that you should be trying to do something about the reason for the stress if you can. Easier said than done I know as you can't always identify a single cause. Do remember that you aren't responsible for everything that happens to you and you can't solve all of the world's problems. If you're a bit of a control freak like me (or the conscientious/perfectionist type) you won't like having to admit to any kind of failure or a letting go of unresolved problems, particularly difficult relationships with other people. Sometimes however we just have to walk away and say "I tried". Everything is a learning experience and from it you may be able to build better elsewhere.

The Holy Spirit is the love between you and everyone around you. To grieve the Holy Spirit is to become so antisocial that you cut off all connections and actually burn those connections. Love is a very holy thing and it can only be shared in the land of the living. Give out love and keep doing so even if you're starved of it from everyone around you or even if you get beaten, turn the other cheek and keep loving, never letting anger or hate have a foothold. Yes, I was beaten with brass knuckles, but I only felt suffering and not anger. Get to the point so that it comes naturally that you don't have anger from those things. Let your aura be perfect light and no lack of light at all. You're a star. A star isn't put inside a container so that no one can see its light, but it shines for all to see. Too many people are hiding their starlight. Hiding it is grieving the Holy Spirit.

I'm not an expert but stress seems effect people differently. For me, it is a pressure and tension in my chest. My understanding is that stress might manifest physically in an area of your body that is already weak. You are possibly feeling the effects of stress but just to be safe, why not see your doctor. Perhaps he/she can help with the stress as well.

It feels like an inability to ever relax because of something weighing on your mind, like the thought that someone could be reporting you on here as you sleep. This forum is really stressing me out, so I get lots of headaches and stomachaches along with this recent insomnia.

The physical response to stress is called "fight or flight". Adrenaline is released into your blood stream, dilating the blood vessels to the brain and heart increasing circulation in these areas. At the same time it constricts blood vessels to the skin and other internal organs resulting in cool skin, decreased movement in the digestive tract and decreased production of urine. The pupils dilate to improve vision and your mouth goes dry due to lack of saliva production. Your heart beats faster and you blood pressure goes up. Fatigue and exhaustion are also apparent.
