I feel like it has completely no affect on me--basically over night. It didn't just start losing it's effect slowly. One day I took it and it worked. The next day, nothing. What is going on???

You need to see your doctor, not ask us. Usually they recommend switching medication. You should try and set up an appointment as soon as you can.

I don't believe that this drug is the answer to most of the children who are prescribed it. I have found that many of the doctors don't know a heck of a lot about the medicine as well.. This stuff messes with the Serotonin levels in the brain. It causes more production than if it wasn't in the body. What happens is that the chemicals become imballenced up in the brain, which could lead into depression or worse in the end. The result could be worse than what was intended. This is nothing to fool around with. Many of children who are diagnosed with ADD are truly not, but just have high energy levels, and are very spirited. We are evolving, and more and more children are being born with more energy than the older generations. Older generations are mistaken this for a medical condition. So what do they do? They give them pills to "chill" them out. These kids then are drugged, subdued, and who they truly are born here to do, they are suppressed from. Please get second or 3rd opinion before ever giving this dangerous drug to a child. Do reasearch on it. You'll find out how dangerous it is. Use your instincts too.

I was on a medication for an anxiety disorder and oddly enough 7 years after taking it, it all of a sudden quit working. I have been told your body can build a tolerance for it. Anyway the doctor put me on something a little stronger and now i'm fine. I hope this helps.

NOT TRYING TO SCARE YOU BUT TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR LIKE RIGHT AWAY. 7 YEARS IS A LONG TIME TO BE ON RITALIN. YOUR BRAIN COULD POSSIBLY NOT BE FUNCTIONING TO THE MEDICATION ANY LONGER AND COULD BE STARTING REVERSE EFFECTS FROM THE REASON YOU WERE PUT ON RITALIN. MY COUSIN WAS ON RITALIN FOR MANY YEARS AND I HOPE THIS DON'T SCARE YOU BUT HE IS NOT MENTALLY ALL THE WAY THERE NOW AND HE IS VERY NOT ACTIVE INSTEAD OF BEING VERY ACTIVE AND EVERYBODY BELIEVES IT IS BECAUSE OF THE RITALIN DOSAGE FOR ALL THOSE YEARS. HOPE NOT TO SCARE YOU BUT SINCE YOU POSTED THIS HOPEFULLY IT HAS SAVED SOMETHING BAD FROM HAPPENING.
