That is pretty fast. Here are some aggressive but realistic ideas.

Don't target losing more than about 2 lbs per week. If you try to lose faster, your body will go into "starvation mode" and get very stingy about burning calories while at the same time very efficient about storing any calories that you do provide. And it will make you feel awful.

There is no site specific way of losing fat... the old myth about working your abs to burn belly fat isn't true. To get rid of love handles, you need to lose overall fat. That happens with exercise and watching your diet. More on that below.

The most effective way to lose fat is aerobic exercise in the "moderate" fat-burning range, ideally first thing in the morning before you eat. When you wake your body is ready to burn fat and your levels of growth hormone are highest at that time. Later in the day it can take up to 30 minutes just to put your body into a fat-burning mode.

Another overlooked way to burn fat is by lifting weights. Skeletal muscle has very high caloric needs... almost twice that of adipose (fat) tissue. Put on a little muscle and you will burn calories all day even at rest. Be aware that skeletal muscle weighs more, so with this approach you may see your weight increasing while your body fat is melting away. Not realizing this often stresses folks who think they should be losing weight as a measure of fitness. Forget the scale, look in the mirror and you will be happy.

To lose a pound of fat, you need to eliminate about 3500 calories. You can do this by burning more with exercise or by modifying your diet to reduce intake. If you do a Google search on say, "swimming calories" you will quickly find a website with tables of calories burned for a given exercise. You can use such lists to estimate how many calories you are burning up with your routine.

For diet, keep a diary for a couple of weeks counting calories, grams of protein, and grams of fat intake. It is easy with online sources of nutritional information (type the name of the food and calories into the Google search engine) and packaging labels. That will let you quickly figure out where the fat is coming from in your diet.

Fat gives you 9 calories per gram. So take the number of grams of fat, multiply by 9, then calculate what percentage the fat calories are of your total daily calories. Restricting the calories from fat to about 20% of your total intake is ideal for a maintenance diet... that isn't overly restrictive. Of note, you need some fat in your diet. For instance, the body uses fat to produce hormones. Once you have a picture of how to modify your diet, you can drop the diary and just go back to it occasionally if you are wanting to tweek things further.

There is a subset of questions that goes further and asks about "How to get a six-pack?" The answer is the same. Six-packs are 20% abdominal exercise and 80% diet. There is one caveat... abdominal muscles will form in the position that you exercise them, so be certain to pull them tightly toward your spine while doing crunches, etc. Also, during most lifting, the "core is active" which means that you should be stabilizing with contracted abs then too. Fail to do this and the abs will form, but bulging outward and the result is not attractive.

If you are trying to build muscle as a way to lose fat, then you may need to increase total calories and specifically your protein intake. I target about 0.8 g of protein per pound of body weight each day when actively building. That is far more protein than most people need in their diets.

Wow, 25lbs in 2 weeks is quite unhealthy. Any doctor will tell you that you should only be losing 2-4 pounds a week. I suggest you make your goal more long term (although it sounds like you may be needing to lose it before a certain event). It's just easier on your body. You don't have to starve yourself on a diet, just remember to not eat too much of whatever you are eating. You can always get seconds, or if you're at a restaurant just ask them to put half of it in a take out container before they even give you your meal. This will prevent you from overeating (because it's easy to forget how much you've eaten when you're talking to someone) and will give you leftovers to eat the next day...yay! Try to eat every 3-4 hours to keep your metabolism steady. When you starve yourself by not eating for hours and hours, your body realizes it might not get fed for a long time and puts itself into starvation mode. Basically, the next time you eat, your body stores everything, because it doesn't know when you're going to eat next. Don't confuse your body! Try to eat healthier foods. Include lots of veggies, fruits, whole grains and lean meats. Don't deny yourself the occasional luxury of a chocolate bar or something equally as unhealthy, because you'll be more likely to binge. Another good tip I've heard is to never eat alone or when you're sad, because those are the times when you are more prone to overeat, and with bad foods. As well as eating a balanced diet, try to do some sort of exercise for about 45 min. a day. I myself am quite un-athletic, but I enjoy walking, jogging and kayaking, so that's what I do. With the wide variety out there, you're sure to find something. I hope these tricks and ideas will help you reach your goal. Good luck!

Dump your boyfriend. (:

If that doesn't work, surgery is really your only option and unless you've already started the process, even that won't happen in two weeks. It's not healthy to lose more than 2-4 pounds per week. Don't starve yourself - no event/guy is worth it. Take two months, get serious about diet and exercise, and you should be able to achieve your goal of losing 25lbs...just not in two weeks. Good luck!!

Healthy tips for losing weight fast

1. Lessen calorie intake by 250-500 per day by substituting most high calorie foods for low fat varieties

2. Keep this cut going for at least one week or until you reach a weight loss level that lasts more than 4 days, then reduce calories by a further 200 per day.

3. Take high quality protein with mainly meals or if possible combine the low fat plant foods together at each meal.

4. Begin a standard weight-training program to keep muscle and boost metabolism.

5. Do aerobic activities on the days in-between the weights sessions to help burn fat directly.

6. Drink plenty of water all day to keep energy levels.

7. Lessen sodium eating by preparing meals using fresh, natural and healthy ingredients.

8. Gently raise the intensity level of the weights program forcing the body to hold onto muscle as calorie intake is lowered gradually over time.

9. Never go below 1500 calories per day, simply exercise more often when if this target is reached.

Thats impossible, even if you did starve yourself. Your body burns 2000 calories a day (roughly) just sustaining life. That means in 7 days if you ate nothing you would burn 14,000. You still need to burn 73,500 calories.

You could run all day every day, and you still wont burn 25lbs in one week - especially if you starve yourself. How do you expect to have any energy if you arent putting any food (fuel) in your body?

Want to know how to burn 1200+ calories in about 15 minutes?

Throw the McDonalds away instead of eating it.

Eating healthy is the best way to lose weight, exercise is merely a supplement to that.

If you lose weight to fast, you are setting up your body for negative health consequences.

It would be better to lose 2-5 lbs in two weeks, and keep it off and stay healthy - then lose a lot of weight, only to have it return and have bad health.

Have a goal of eating well every day, being a little active every day.. be a healthy person now.. and with time you will be living with a fit body, not having to diet or set goals for yourself.

Liposuction is the only possible way I can think of. 25 lbs in 2 weeks is over 2 lbs a day!! You'd have be a Herculese to do it by dieting and exercise,... mostly exercise to burn calories. 2 lbs a day is simply unrealistic and quite unhealthy with seriously mega health risks. Even getting your stomach stapled isn't going to get you to lose 25 lbs in 2 weeks. If liposuction isn't an option for you (after consulting a doctor of course), then you are just sol.

Whatever you do, do NOT starve yourself. When your body isn't recieving food, it produces "back-up fat" for you to live off of, which just makes you fatter. What you need to do is watch what you eat. Eat healthier food, and make a habit of it. You also have to exercise; ya know, go on a bike ride or a walk. But since you're only twelve, don't get too involved in dieting. Keep your self-esteem up and don't let anyone judge you. :]

You can't. Losing that much weight in such a short amount of time will greatly damage your body. The best way to go would be to cut out all junk foods, increase your veggie intake, and excercise for an hour a day.. The weight won't come off as fast as you would like it to, but it won't hurt your body that way.

Yikes! That's a lot to lose in such a short time. You may want to adjust your goals to a more realistic level to make them more achievable. Maybe give yourself a couple months instead of just a couple weeks. You would still have to be pretty dedicated, but at least it's doable. If you set goals that are totally unrealistic, you will just dissapoint yourself when you can't do it. Then you will give up. Set a more realistic goal, and if you can't quite do it, at least you will be close, and it won't be so dissapointing.
