I'm 26 and I take Adderall XR (about 1 1/2 years now) I take 30mg XR in the A.M. and a 10mg Immediate release in the evening. The incidents where people have died are not so much caused by the drug itself but by underlying health issues that went undetected, or abuse of other drugs. With any drug there are side effects and risks....Does it really help your son? I know I would have done alot better in school and work through out my life if I had been prescribed that much sooner. I could not imagine life with out it now...It completely changed me. I am now in college and maintain above a 3.0 all of the time. I even made Dean's list a few times. I would rather be without life than have the difficulties I had before. When you can't focus, study, sit still, or accomplish what you start life gets pretty depressing. That is no longer the case for me. A few more years and I will be a Clinical Psychologist and hope to work with the Govt. in Forensics, Profiling, and/or Criminology. Good luck to you and your son

I take it even though I'm not a child or teen. Keep in mind these deaths were probably not even caused by Adderall. There could be other health issues. If you researched every drug that way, you will find deaths from every drug that has ever been given. With the rise of law practices that are suing drug companies for incidents like these, you have to expect reports like that to keep climbing as well. My advice would be to keep a close eye on your son. You be the judge. If you notice anything that is disconcerting, make an appointment with his MD to discuss it.
