Yeah its normal, my female dog started humping about the same age, we asked the vets about it and they said females do it as much as males do, They also said that you shouldnt let them hump you though because its thier way of showing how dominent they are over you!

yes its normal i have 3 shihtzus myself 2 5 yearolds and 1 one year old theybhump teddys all the time and cushions and whatever else they can find mine are male and neutured they are so cute we had a female twenty years ago which used to hump legs it is normal just enjoy her there so much fun

yes its normal my female dog still does it at 6 years and shes been spayed you need to keep Teddy's or anything she humps away from her then that way you are breaking the bad habit

My daughter has a Yorkshire Terrier who to this day would hump a teddy-bear if we didn't take it away a couple of years ago.. I'm not sure why she did it, but she doesn't seem to even notice she doesn't have it anymore.

No - not at all. She is just trying to show dominance. Since the teddy bear is allowing her to do it, then she knows she is the dominent dog.

My bichon frise is nearly 2 and she still does this! She has been spayed. The vet says it is quite normal and it is her way of dominating the teddy!!!

She's just a dirty little dog like mine. She is a 3 yr old toy poodle that will hump anything she can get on.

Your shitzu sounds like she is confused about her sexuality - give her time, dont put pressure on her and she will make up her own mind when she is good and ready.
