How does smoking in public affect the Quality of Life?

I smoke and can understand why non-smokers do not like smoking in public, because second hand smoke does do more damage to their health then it does a smokers. I do ask if it will bother others if I sit next to them in a casino or bar out of consideration. You never know when somebody has medical problems or if they have quit and they can't stand to be around cigarette smoke. Butt, I hate when a non-smoker goes to a designated smoking area and then proceeds to do that fake cough crap!

It definitely affects the quality of my life. I am very allergic to cigarette smoke and when I leave my car and head inside sometimes I cannot avoid all the cigarette smokers and then have an asthma attack and have to use my inhaler and take drugs and have a harder time doing my job cause some idiot smoked right in front of the door instead of walking a couple of more feet to the smoking area. Since I work in a hospital, it could be one of the smokers family members that my work will involve and if I make a big mistake it could have really bad consequences. In just a few more weeks the whole campus will be smoke free. I can hardly wait.

It likely has the same effect on the quality of life that all the cars on the road belching carcinogens out their tail pipes do.
