Yeah, especially the part where Jonah gets swallowed alive by the whale. Or, hey, how about the part where Abraham almost sacrifices Isaac? Or--get this--how about the one where Judas rats out Christ for some coins and later hangs himself in shame? And, you've got to admit the Book of Revelations is a major hoot!

Curious: Why do you call it a "laugh riot"? Inquiring minds want to know.

You know what really creeps me out? Why R&S is a #1 topic on this website. I don't believe in God with a capital "G." However, as long as I don't have to buy into someone else's definition of what god is, I certainly believe that life is a miracle, and not in the biblical sense. Why is there something instead of nothing? I just think we lack imagination when exploring that question.

I tried to read the entire Bible. I think the "begats" did me in.
I tried the Q'ran. Even worse. (Sorry, that's just me.)

The problem with the Bible is that people took it to promote things to control and exploit the masses. It has good concepts and truth, mixed with many lies.

Remember that throughout time the wealthy were the only ones permitted to go to the spiritual places; that's were they made up all the lies. Even now they wealthy are the only ones permitted to interpret the Bible.

This is why we should be dealing with our spirituality. That means you take the things you learn and see which ones your spirit feel are good; then you make a way of life from those things that your spirit feels are good and of Truth.

God's word is not a laughing matter and it is not full of contradictions just because you don't understand everything you are reading. Ask God to give you understanding of what He is saying. You can read anything and not understand it unless you are really seeking for answers from the source. God's Word is foolishness to those who do not seek to know Him and His Truth. Is it so hard to believe He Loves you and sent His Son to Save you and all of us who do not reject Him. To reject God's Son Jesus is to condemn yourself . You have a choice to receive His Love and His gift of Salvation or turn Him down By rejecting Him and His Word the Bible . I choose Eternal Life and am a Child of God. You so far have rejected Him and therefore are not a Child of God. Sorry but that's the truth if you Believe the Bible which I do.P.S The Bible Has been around for thousands of years and many have tried to destroy it by burning it and many have tried to wipe it from the face of the earth and have not succeeded. What does that tell? Historically speaking the Bible"s authenticity when compared to other ancient writings is far superior . The contents of the Bible has effected human history more than any other book. Therefore one should consider seriously what it has to say before passing judgement.

It's pretty amusing to me! ;p

I do enjoy the fact that you can tell how they stole Pagan idealism (if you know enough about Paganism). For example, there are a lot of tie-ins to Ragnarok (end of the world in Norse Paganism) in Revelation, and the ideas of Ragnarok existed long before the Christian Apocalypse.

You should have studied it, I have read it all the way through too, And didn`t understand it till, I studied it, I read it nearly every night, I see all the things coming to pass, everything it says, you can see happening on the news. If God didn`t tell them prophets what was gonna happen, someone sure did make a great guess.

There is a difference between reading it like novel, and having God open up His word in the bible to you, through accepting Him as the one and only God, and accepting His son Jesus as your savior. If you don't believe in the author of the bible, you can't understand the message He is giving you from His word, in the bible.

It's not funny, they're trying to get some message across, but even the different sects of Christians don't agree on what that message is.
