Hi, I turned 30 in April. I am 5'2" and currently weight 138. Prior to turning 30 my highest weight was 120. I have never had problems loosing weight. My friends always teased me because I could loose 5 or 10 pounds in a week or two just by increasing exercise.

I am really having trouble shedding the 20 pounds I have gained. I really started to actively try to loose weight 3 months ago. I don't eat a lot of junk food or fast food. I don't have junk fo0d at home nor do I eat them out. I cut back my calories and began exercising at least 5 days a week. I increased cardio and just lifted light weights to tone. I cut out diet coke and all other soda. I increased my water intake to at least 70 ounces a day.
I lost a couple of inches at first but they have reappeared. I have been very dedicated but can't see any results. Desperate, last month I decided to try Hydroxycut but haven't seen any results either. Any ideas my wedding is in 6 weeks and I can't fit in my dress.

Hi there
Firstly...don't panic, I turn 40 next April & I hear what you are saying!! You are doing the right things, but stop taking the Hydroxycut. I tried it & after I stopped taking it, the weight just went back on.
It could be that you have put on weight due to high cortisol. Is the weight gain in your stomach (abdominal area) & bum?? If so, then it's the effects of Cortisol which is released at times of stress & sadly women over 30 are more prone to it's effects. Get some rest, try to de-stress with a massage & facial, deep breaths & chamomile tea. Your wedding will be fabulous & you'll look stunning. Good luck

If you tried all that. There is really nothing more you can do. Especially Long Term.
Just be happy at 138.
It could be worse.

Get a new dress.
Fiance loves you, Right?
Yoyoing between different weights will always make him wish you hadn't
"just gained weight".

Let him know from the begining that you are 138. Proud of it. And don't plan on changing.

(unless of course it comes naturally or easily)

So don't worry about it and for now establish your weight at 138, Constant.

See your doctor. Its possible (and VERY common in women) that you may have a metabolic disorder like hypothyroidism. It is very treatable. But, it is also possible that your metabolism just slowed down. It sounds like you are doing everything right, just keep at it. But, my main advise is to talk to your doctor about it. I am not a physician, I just know about hypothyroidism because my mom has it. Good luck and Congrats on getting married (soon)!!!!

If I were u, I would drink plenty of water, eat lots of salad (little dressing), and walk a lot. Stay active. You could also do floor exercises at home.
