No I do not.
I believe that some people do need help, execution is not the answer.

NO. When government is able to judge the life of another, problems begin to occur with all of society. Government should have power over no one individual or society. Solving sex crimes starts by being open to our children about the possibility of being abused. Having been sexually involved with men from the time i was 7 until 13, I know part of my contribution and allowing it to happen was because I was curious. Had my parents been open to tell me the problems and dangers of it, I would not have given any of them a chance. I think a more serious problem are those who physically abuse children. Most sexual offenders coax children into being sexually active through words, not physical force. Most pedophiles I know would never physically harm a child or use force. We must give our children some responsibilty in their well-being as well. Talk to them, as I do mine, and tell them of the dangers. Offenders will always have the urge to commit these acts, but we can help them create boundaries. It is like we live in a magical world... as hard as it is, most husbands have the urge to have sex with new women. However, the solution of a good marriage is creating the boundary not to. Child sex offense is the same. These people did not ask for the urge to have sex with children, it is just there. Just as a teenagers urge to masturbate or have sex is there- it just is.

No, I don't think sex offenders should be put to death. What they did was absolutely horrendous and I wish the worst on them. They should be castrated, and sentenced to life in the toughest prisons without parole.....but not death.
Why?
I believe that it is more benificial to our criminal justice system if repeat sex offenders, serial killers, and other high level criminals are kept alive to be studied. Some of the best information we get about serial killers and their ways comes from actual, locked up serial killers.
The same would apply to sex offenders. If we keep them locked up, then we can study their psychology to learn more about the sex offender mind. This could help to solve cases and stop future offenses. It helps to improve the art of criminal profiling, which is the art of studying crime scenes and patterns to try and create a profile of a suspected killer/offender so that we can identify suspects and possibly intervene before further crimes are commited.
And besides, the death penalty is too expensive. Someone can sit on death row for years and years before being executed because of all the appeals and other such court nonsense. That just jacks up the amount of money that taxpayers have to pay for these horrid people. It's expensive to keep someone in prison their whole life, but even more so to try and execute them. Better to just keep them alive: it's cheaper, doesn't raise as many ethical issues, and helps to improve criminal research.

I would like you to just think on this for a moment. Not all of the offenders are male. I think when you say predator or sex offender people automatically think "guy". I happen to know of a case that involved a underage male, and this person walked into a party standing taller than your average man with just as much facial hair. I want to say he was very close to 15. Anyway, years after this party where something happened, and the girl at this party woke up and found him in the bed with her ( by the way, he was thrown out of the house ) This girl who was 25ish, beat herself up over this, finding out 2 weeks after the fact of his age. She was a college grad, and had 2 little girls...she really beat herself up over it...Years later she got into a relationship and told him after he kept asking why she would wake up crying at night. The boyfriend said, something like, don't worry about it. Some times you really dont know, it could happen to alot of people. When the boyfriend was discovered to have a drug problem and removed from this ladies home, he went to an elementary school where her daughter attended, and yelled she is a child molester, keep the kids away from her. Detectives showed up to her house a couple days later, and she told them the truth. So did the guy, who stated he did not want her to know his age...he hid it. The lady found out later she was given special K in her drink, and the guy that was under age, was serving time for raping 2 other girls (his age) and distributing drugs. But, these charges can all be erased from his file when he is 18 or 21, I can't remember...But, my point is, The lady was brought up on charges, felony charges, and they wanted to give 7 to 10 years for that. She know has to register as a offender, cannot change jobs, and I think every case needs to really be looked at closer and blanket statements not given so freely. Out of curiosity, what do you think in this case....Death penalty, or holy cow what a mistake, I am just curious....

I think child sex offenders should be castrated...but the death penalty will work well to...however, I think they deserve it after the first offense...they will offend again. Pedophiles never rehabilitate. Anyone who answers no to this question doesn't have children and has never seen them leer at kids who walk by and reoffend over and over again with the prosecutor just putting them in jail again and again. They don't learn...

Yes I do. Doing that to a child is a horrible crime and I think they should all get the death penalty no matter if it is their first .

YES! YES! YES! YES! AND YESSSSSSSSS!!!! Although I find 25-life too short for a first crime. I also want to clarify that I do NOT think this law should apply to emancipated (children) boys who had consentual sex with their 16 year old girlfriends. These guys are not 'sex offenders' (although a parent of the young lady may disagree). They're horney teenagers--weren't we all?

Absolutely. Let's make the bill you mention introduced in Texas a pattern for a national law. Any lesser 1st time conviction penalty must include physical or chemical castration.
With the exception of a traitor (peace time or war time) I can not think of a lower form of human scum.

You asked if we support the death penalty not if we support serving life in prison. Do I support the death penalty No! I do not think death is a way to pay for a crime. I believe the only way to pay for your crime is living and suffering behind bars, while others are free and looking down on you for your crime. I also think it is stupid to give the death penalty to a murderer, by doing this is you being a murderer also. Now! Do I support life in prison HEii YEAH!! The idiots need to pay for their crime and not be given any freedom to do it again!!!!!!!!

Yes, I absolutely support the death penalty for child sex offenders. I heard that the average pedophile will have abused between 100-150 children before they are caught. That is disgusting and it affects the children for the rest of their lives. The sick perverts should have to suffer the way they made the children suffer. Lethal injection is way too easy and life in prison means we as taxpayers are paying to keep those sickos alive, unless of course the other inmates don't give them what they deserve. It's time to get tough on those who ruin childrens lives.

ABSOLUTELY! Except, that a second offense should notnothing be an option. First offense......FRY! Why the courts, with the help of slick lawyers, allow child sex offenders a second chance is abhorable.
