there's an old saying: eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and supper like a pauper. i would eat a healthy breakfast (no fatty meats like pork) some fruits and grains for lunch, but not a feast, and as little as you can for supper, just enough to satisfy your appetite. don't eat after 4:30 pm. your body won't digest the food overnight, and you'll wake up feeling nasty and not want breakfast. drink tons of water, and in addition to walking, do some other excercises.

by the way, the people that are telling you muscle weighs more than fat are right, technically (it's denser)-- but you aren't building muscle by walking briskly, so that's not why your weight isn't changing.

Could be many reasons,

Cut out the treats COMPLETELY, and eat very, very, very, light.
Like only fruit and healthy cereal with skim milk.
There are a lot of nice varieties that are fat free or only have 10 FAT CALORIES per serving.

Also, when you work out you should be WORKING UP A SWEAT and KEEP working out EVEN AFTER you are tired.
That's how you loose the most.

If you are middle aged or if you have ever been pregnant, you will have a harder time losing, just to let you know.

If you get hungry, try all-natural appetite suppressants.
Hoodia is the best and only.

Keep a food log of what you eat and how much til your next Dr.s appointment and share it with your Dr. then, in light of your weight. It may make the problem and possible solutions more clear than "you should eat more." You can say you eat sufficiently, but the Dr. sees the scale which says you don't. An actual accounting will let you both see how many calories you're consuming a day and in what form.

Try cutting out bread and replacing with salads at lunchtime. If you eat porridge (oats) for breakfast it will keep you full for longer and keep your blood sugar up. Also try not to eat any carbohydrates after abolut 6pm except sweet potato to replace regular potato. Buy Patrick Holfords book The Holford Diet. I was battling to lose weight for ages despite exercising almost every day and his book was the magic trigger that made me lose weight. He tells you to balance your blood sugar and you will lose about 1-2kgs a week and you dont go hungry. Good Luck!

Hello Linda,

Muscle weighs more than fat, so you could be getting fit and burning fat but the muscle you are forming is weighing more. Whilst you are being kind like this to your body you are building up your metabolic rate, so you will eventually become more efficient at burning calories. So don't worry just keep at it. I also think that you need to be happy about your body, don't chase the unachievable and accept your body for how it is. Just be fit well and accept your self for how you are. xx

You need to diversify your training programme. Your body is bored & you rmuscles need you to change your workout routine & perhaps see a nutritionist about what you eat, may be that you aren't eating enough to sustain the energy output & your body will then start to store fat. Good luck

muscle weighs more than fat and so as you get fitter, to start with at least, you are going to put on weight, as all that fat turns to nice lean muscle.. keep doing what you are doing and eventualy the weight will fall off, it took you years to put all that weight on and you're not going to lose it over night.. be patient and don't give up just because you're not seeing the results.
