I don't have a symbol on my keyboard for pounds only $. Does anyone know how I can type a pounds symbol?

Yes, sorry it is for the British pound (money) not the weight.

If you hold the "ALT" key down while pressing "1", "5", "6", then you should get the symbol for British Pounds Sterling. Or, in Microsoft Word, you can select the "Symbol" option from the "Insert" menu. Good Luck!

You evidently mean the British unit of money, not the English weight. Some people misunderstand you. The ordinary keyboard doesn't have symbols for some money units. There is a dollar symbol but none for cent. You can type DM. CHF, FF or euros for some European currency units, but I need one for Japanese yen. I suppose one can buy software with currency symbols.

if you are using microsoft word you can go to insert symbol and the pound symbol would be available. Other than that you may be able to put GBP to denote the currency
