a) colic - it will pass after a while
b) you keep going in every time it cries - sounds cruel, but you need to let them cry it out. Just make sure they're clean and dry.

Could be a number of reasons, and not having additional information could be vidal to giving an answer. BUT babies require a routine. Maybe your baby is sleeping too much during the day? Too much sugar? Try putting ur baby down a bit later, just stick to a routine.

UMMM YEAY!!!!!!
WHY IS MY 81/2 MONTH OLD NOT SLEEPIN THROUGH THE NIGHT????????????????

he is 26+ pounds, he drinks two bottles through out the night, he looks like a fat mexican waiting on his money(he acts like i owe him something is what i mean by that, and i am mixed with latino, no disrespect)
i am stumped!!! i do not know what to do!!!

will i ever get some damn sleep???????????

There are a number of reasons maybe. With my 2 they have awakened because of hunger,night terrors or they went to bed to early. It really is not to unusual. take a close look at your child when he/she wakes up and go through a check list one by one.

some dont till later age..... and maybe the little one is not full.. is he/she eating baby food ? or cereal ?? maybe the milk or formula is not agreeing with him/her?? or maybe as i was the little one just has a backwards clock..... i am 48 and still dont sleep at night much.... rofl, aggrivating at times but it is who and what I am..... i drove my mother nuts !!!!! make apointment with ped. and talk and see what they say about it... there may also be a medical reason...... God bless

Maybe using white noise (like a fan) will help it to sleep.

try getting a cold, wet wash cloth and let the child chew on it. i bet your child is teething. they also make some stuff to put on the gums to numb them.

maybe he or she is not getting enough to eat. . is the baby real hungry when he or she wakens? a nice warm bath prior to bed is also soothing
