my history teacher said that

That's just like saying the egg came before the chicken. How do you really know?? I thing your teacher needs to go back to school and should be re-evaluated by your schools staff. Bring it up to the principal if you have a big problem with her saying that but you may get resistance from you're teacher and friends if you chose to do so. Peer pressure sux. I'd just ignore her and let it go in one ear and out the other. She was never there and I have no clue either so I'm neutral without any proof.

Your history teacher has an obvious bias and some kind of political axe to grind. He/she is also woefully ignorant of firearms technology of the day and the logistics of weaponry on an expedition like the one Christopher Columbus undertook. Gunpowder and lead (shot/bullets) were conserved and only used when absolutely needed. If he really wanted to kill babies for fun he would have used his sword. Tell your teacher to do some more research before making up such an obvious lie.

Your teacher is an idiot. Guns at that time weren't really easy to use, let alone allow the shootist to throw an object with one hand, then lift the gun to shoulder, aim and fire.
Secondly, most guns were matchlock or flint lock, which had to stay horizontal once primed for firing. This makes the scenario even more unlikely.
Finally, "blacks" weren't even in the Indies at the time, they were brought there by the Spanish about 75 yrs later, after they had killed off most of the native slaves.
Again, your teacher is an idiot. Trying to make some sort of personal-agenda point, probably. Report this to the principal.

When Christorpher Columbus was about there were no black people in America.. only native Americans and Spanish. There might have been African slaves on the ships.. but no babies. So it's bullshit.

It is my understanding that this is witness statement from when Christopher Columbus was on trial in Spain for desertion (of crew), failure to pay, and assorted abominations upon other Human Beings. By the way, Columbus died in jail.

That's pretty awesome that your teacher said that. I see no logical reason it would be true since he took 4 time consuming trips to America where there were no black people. Black people evolved in the jungle. What business would he have had there? It's almost certainly false.

If your history teacher really said that you need to talk to your parents and have a sit down with the principal.

Never heard that before. Did CC actually have guns way back in the 1490s? Sounds like BS to me.

I have never heard that. It sounds a bit rediculous to me. True or no it is a rediculous and irresponsible thing for a teacher to say
