In the frozen foods section of the grocery store there are some really good frozen ice cream treats. Also, there are some Weight Watchers desserts but they seem pretty high in calories. I think you should allow yourself a dessert each evening as long as you search for the lower calorie ones like I mentioned. This way you have something to look forward to. Yes, if you are a treadmill person you will not only burn off that low calorie dessert, but you will jump start your metabolism. Good luck!!!!

If you have one of those calorie counting treadmills, you'll learn the reason. Anything in small portions, and pudding cups. Don't save much room for dessert, and eat tiny desserts. And if you really feel guilty about a splurge, try fidgeting to burn off calories throughout the day.

Sherbert is lower in fat and calories (and sugar) than ice cream. However if you do lots of exercise you can pretty much eat as you please.
Exercise builds muscle and muscle is what burns calories. But you need A LOT of exercise.
Just try not to over do on the fat foods, but a once in a while won't hurt a thing.

there are lots of alternatives to icecream like frozen yogurt and soy icecream that taste exactly the same... ben and jerry's makes some great choices!
and if you are willing to burn those calories off on the treadmill... then go for it!

Girl take a break from your diet and splurge! It's the only way to keep your sanity. One scoop of ice cream won't make you gain a pound. If you have a Golden Spoon near you their frozen yogurt is really good. It's non-fat, low-cal and surprisingly somewhat low in carbs.

Dreyer's Slow Churned - good stuff.
Use moderation in ice cream. 1/2 cup should be enough to satisfy a sweet tooth. If you eat healthy most of the time, then it won't hurt to have some ice cream. Good food, and good exercise. It's not cheating - women are programmed to feel like it's cheating.
It's not a reward either.

you can get low cal ice cream.... Or eat 2 hershey's kisses! If you are on a diet and trying to lose weight, you can eat ice cream, but you will have to spend even longer on the treadmill...otherwise your weight will just stay the same...

Try sticking to your diet, but once a week have a day (Sunday for me) where you eat whatever you want (to a limit of course). That one day will help you stay tight with your diet the rest of the week, believe me.
Dean's makes a good "diet" ice cream...slow churned or something like that? it's 25% less fat/calories. good stuff.

My friend got me a snow cone maker to help me with my diet.
It really works, use Atkins flavored syrups. Or diet soft drinks and make a huge cup of shaved ice and set and crunch it down the ice keeps you from getting hungry get some diet vanilla ice cream and mix in with it to make it creamy. With the diet Hawaiian punch it is delicious.
