Is smoking 1 cigarette a day really that awful for you?

Yes. The tars and other particles collect on your lungs makes them less elastic. It becomes habit forming and you will be smoking more and more. If you ever saw an emphysema victim struggling to breathe, you would get rid of the cigs while you can still stop.

I'm sure it's not good because one will lead to two. Two will lead you to 10 and after a while you'll probably be smoking a pack or more a day. As a former smoker, walk away from it. I just quit and it wasn't that bad, but even when I had just ONE a day, I still felt awful. It wasn't until I just stopped that I felt better. After two weeks of not smoking, I had one and felt I was going to pass out.
One a day might not be bad for you, but it's not good either.

Hi - I am a cancer patient and had cancer due to smoking besides other factors. It does not matter if you smoke one cigarette or twenty in a day - if you were ment to get the illness you will. One thing for sure if you carry on smoking you are going to have one hellva old age problem with things like your arteries thickening up, ashtama coming around and so on. If I were you - I would not even smoke the one cigarette per day. Anyway - its your life.

one cig a day is 7 - one pack is 20. The question is a little like will shooting smack once a month hurt me. Probably not but I never saw anyone keep ether a heroin or a cigarette habit under control. Who knows you might be the first but why mess around with it. Most women or men think it is a gross habit. Not going to do your social life any good even if it does not hurt your health.

No. One cigarette a day is OK. I wish I could get by with just one a day. What with all the other air pollution out there, they can't blame it all on cigarette smoking.

Yes, you keep smoking more as your body gets used to it. You can get to 2 packs a day with time.

Smoking one cigarette a day probably wouldn't hurt you but it makes your breath stink and might lead to having another and another.
It's better just to stay away from them

It all depends on your system (body). Some will be heavy smokers and have a good life. Some smoke little and fall ill. My advice: don't take any chance. Put all chance on your side. We have after all, just one life.
