It means that when Jesus reigns there will be peace, but after that 1000 years (only God knows if those are the exact number of years or it is literally the number) then Satan will be released.

Jesus Christ will come and satan will be locked up for 1000 years and people will learn the truth, without any interferance from the Devil, I recommend reading revelations and talking to a pastor.

it means what it says, after the millenium satan will be released for a little while and then the great battle, when Jesus takes him out with His word.

1000 might not be literal, it might just mean 'a very long time'
