He was in human form just like we are, he faced the temptations that we do, and he had the same spirit that we have, for he has given it to us. So what enabled him to overcome all the temptations of the enemy and not sin?

Jesus could not have sinned, or else he would not have been the pure lamb that was sacrificed to redeem us.
To those who just say it was because he was God, then how can we trust His word that we can overcome temptation? Anyways, arent we "just humans, but He is God?" If he is just God and that is how he overcame temptaion to sin, then we can have no hope to not sin because we obviously aren't God.
So how was he able to overcome temptations to sin?

By the way, Paul says to "Follow me as I follow Christ," so we should compare oursevles to Jesus and try to live perfectly like he did. Many other times Paul says to live blameless lives.
So how can we live blamelessly, or in other words, perfectly just like Jesus?

Did Jesus not say, I give you my spirit to do the same, and even greater, works that I did

Does it say in the bible that Jesus never sinned? It is part of the tradition of Christainity to believe this but I wonder if it says that anywhere. One definition of sin is not being in touch with God, on the cross Jesus was complaining that God had forsaken him. Does that mean he was not in touch with God and therefore in a state of sin at that time? It is an interesting theological point.

You need to recheck your Bible. Yes, Jesus was in human form and he faced the same temptations that we do, but that is where the similiarity ends. He was, and is, devine, which we are not! Therefore, He did not have the same spirit that we have. His spirit was holy, there's a huge difference there.
Also remember that originally Satan, aka Lucifer, had been an angel in Heaven with Jesus and His father, God. Lucifer was under Jesus and, even though he was the highest angel in rank, he still answered to Jesus and God. It was when Lucifer rebelled and decided he was going to be as good as Jesus and God and have their same power that he was expelled from Heaven and God's presence. Lucifer is still trying his hardest to have more power than God. He knows that he will lose in the end and will spend Eternity in Hell along with his followers.

The difference between us and Jesus is that He is God. He is divine. We are only human. He was born as a human, but because He is divine, He was born without sin. This is how He lived a perfect life on earth.
God bless.

Jesus was born without sin similar to adam and eve. You and I and the entire rest of the world, were born with sin. It was bred into us. Its like a cake pan with a dent in it. Every loaf of bread has that same dent. Jesus was not made from that pan. He was made directly by God there fore perfect. He kept his perfection by living his life in accordance with God's will. Don't compare yourself with Jesus. Use him as an example but expect to make mistakes. We are not perfect. I applaud your effort :-) It is a great struggle with a wonderful reward

Because he was the sinless Lamb of God...If you read in Leviticus, in order to be forgiven, you must sacrifice your most unblemished livestock, preferably a lamb or cattle. Jesus then in the NT was the sinless sacrifice for all of man kind. He was perfect becuase he was God, in human form.He was here to teach us, and save us. If he wasn't perfect, then he could not be the Mesiah. But He was and He is.

He was tempted as we are and tempted in every way. He had a little help that we can't claim. He had no nature to be evil. All the rest of us have a deep desire to take the easy way if it means a little lie to avoid pain or responsibility we grab it. He would have no such thought.... Jim

He didn't. In fact, it's quite possible that Jesus never existed at all.
"Christianity borrowed its central myths and ceremonies from other ancient religions. The ancient world was rife with tales of virgin births, miracle-working saviors, tripartite gods, gods taking human form, gods arising from the dead, heavens and hells, and days of judgment. In addition to the myths, many of the ceremonies of ancient religions also match those of that syncretic latecomer, Christianity. To cite but one example (there are many others), consider Mithraism, a Persian religion predating Christianity by centuries. Mithra, the savior of the Mithraic religion and a god who took human form, was born of a virgin; he belonged to the holy trinity and was a link between heaven and Earth; and he ascended into heaven after his death. His followers believed in heaven and hell, looked forward to a day of judgment, and referred to Mithra as "the Light of the World." They also practiced baptism (for purification purposes) and ritual cannibalism—the eating of bread and the drinking of wine to symbolize the eating and drinking of the god’s body and blood. Given all this, Mithra’s birthday should come as no surprise: December 25th; this event was, of course, celebrated by Mithra’s followers at midnight.
Mithraism is but the most striking example of the appearance of these myths and ceremonies prior to the advent of Christianity. They appear—in more scattered form—in many other pre-Christian religions."

He was God, just in the form of a man so He could talk to us like normal and inform us. He's not really a man, if you don't know that, you need to study. but He was God, so it wasn't a challenge for Him to not be tempted...

Because His mind wasn't like a mere human mind. He had been through different planes and had a far better comprehension than a normal person would.
