They're up there, but my favorite beer (if you're being specific) is Pilsner Urquell, made in the Czech Republic. Ever notice how some beer is called "pilsner?" This means it's made "in the style of the beer made in the city of Plzen." Well, Pilsner Urquell is made in the CITY of Plzen. It's the real thing, and it's wonderful.

After that, there are some good German beers from Paulaner that I am known to enjoy on occasion.

But... if you're not being specific with the term "beer," if you mean "beverage made from fermented grain and hops," then the British Isles make the second-best beer (really, ale) in the world. Samuel Smith's Nut-brown Ale is my favorite bottled beer; Fuller's ESB on draught is exquisite; and Double Dragon ale from Wales, MacEwan's Tartan Ale from Scotland, and others are just lovely.

The best beer, however, is beer that's no more than a few miles from its birthplace, which is why when somebody says "Wanna go get a beer?" I head for the nearest McMenamin's brewpub. Beer, like bread, Grandma's cookies, and kisses, is at its best when it's fresh. McMenamin's is a restaurant/brewpub business operating in and around Portland, OR; they serve decent pub food at most of their locations, with a few first-rate restaurants as well. But mainly they serve their own beer and ale, made locally and served fresh. Which is why, for me, the best beer in the world is a pint of McMenamin's Hammerhead Ale, served at the bar at my local McMenamin's. Nothing else even comes close.

(Though they DID make a seasonal Irish ale a couple years ago for St. Patrick's Day that I wish they'd make all the time... Ah well.)

Absolutely freakin- not! seriously though, each region has their own distinctive flavoring- I have had some Scottish beers that have been outstanding, tecate from Mexico blows, some German Beers are alright, the darker the better. Harps is Irish and rocks- a good black and tan is hard to beat and that ain't Mexican I can assure you!

You should try many different types and make up your own mind- some countries should not even attempt to make beer- like the Chinese and the Japanese. Think of it like wine- would you rather sample a good Chardonnay from France or New Jersey?

Bueno!

German and Belgian Beers are great. But Mexican?!?

Most of the Mexican beers are crap - but Dos Equis is alright. I like ***** Modelo as well. The rest suck!

German beer is the best in the world, I think, followed closely by Irish (Guinness) - then you're going to have to do some digging, but I like Grolsch (Polish, I think) and Kirin Ichiban (Japanese).

i imagine no longer something is extra ideal than Belgian beer! they have all kinds of beers and they flavor large. i like Mexicans too, yet only to calm down contained in the sunlight, because they are mild! As for German and Irish, i do not somewhat like them, yet i'd comprehend why human beings would like them. i imagine some English, Australian and Jamaican beers are somewhat sturdy too, you should purpose!!

Begian beers are THE best brewed beers in the world. Some American craft distillers make good beer too. Corona sucks. Period.

I don't like either. I've had some interesting beers from Poland and other Eastern European countries. I've also had some really great beers from microbreweries right hear in the States.

No the Irish have forgotten more about beer making than the rest of the world will ever learn. If it's not Irish beer it's bread flavored water.
