Here's a recipe for "Butternut Squash w/ Sage Brown Butter"
Leaving the peel on, cut the butternut squash into half, remove the seeds and then cut into quarters. Go a head and grill it until it gets soft. When the squash is tender, remove it from the grill. Remove the peel and cut it into 2 inch pcs. Take a large skillet, heat it up and put in a 3/4 -1 stick of butter, let it melt and as it begins to brown add in about 1 tsp. of fresh sage leaves. They will crisp up almost immediately, remove the pan from the heat and toss in the butternut squash into the brown butter & sage. Season to taste. I think you'll really enjoy this. This is also great if you add in 3 C. pasta with the squash too.

Yes and it's delicious. You can use either butternut or zuchinni squash. Slice lengthwise about 1/8th inch each, (as if making sandwich pickle slices). Drizzle each with olive oil and sprinkle with a little salt, pepper and garlic powder. Place directly on the grill for about 2-3 mins. each. Cook until just tender. Best when using a charcoal grill with hickory or mesquite chips.
Enjoy-you'll love it.

Yes you can. A really nice recipe for a soup I made:
Grill chunks of butternut squash and red pepper until browned and a little charred. They should be pretty much cooked by then. Put them in a pan with a pinch of cumin seeds or ground cumin, salt and pepper and half a chicken stock cube. Let it simmer until the squash is soft. Use a hand blender or upright blender to blend it until it's mixed but not totally smooth.

If it is still raw, you will need to cook it on the grill using water, butter and aluminum foil. Check every 15 minutes until fork tender, rebutter the interior and then sprinkle some cinnimon on it. Let it sit and absorb for ten minutes and then grill face down for beautiful grill marks.

if your grill has a hood on it you can use it just like an oven. if you don't want the grill taste on the food cover the cooking surface with aluminum foil. if the hood does not have a thermometer put a meat thermometer under the hood and keep an eye on it to keep it at the right temp.

Squash actually makes a very good uncooked soup! Just use a blender or food processor to puree it, season it with salt, pepper, maybe some garlic (I love garlic) and add just a bit olive oil for a creamy texture. Chill it and serve it cold. No kidding. It's amazing!
