What are the chances of being hired into to be a vet tech/assistant, when you have no experience, although they say they'll train the right person.

I'm going to school in March to study in the Vet Tech program, and I'll be certified after 18 months.

What are the chances of being hired knowing you aren't experienced, but you will be studying in the field? I applied for a vet tech position yesterday, and they said they would train the right person. And they didn't say you had to be certified. I just think it would be good training for me prior to going to school.

A lot of places will hire someone who is not a certified vet tech. I'm sure they're serious when they say they will hire and train the right person. The fact that you are going to school in a few months makes you a good candidate. You might not be able to do everything a CVT does, but you can certainly assist in the examining rooms, help out with clerical work, etc...
You can also apply at shelters and rescue groups too, not just vet's offices.
