It's hard to be happy when you are busy condemning the 5 billion people today who are not cristians.

The resolved question you put here did not indicate that religious people aren't happy. Only that a few who claim to be not religious think they're happy. What can I say; Ignorance is bliss. I am very religious and I am happy. I also have peace, which is obtained from my religious beliefs. I don't think I would be as peaceful and secure if I wasn't a Christian.

You can tell by looking at someone if they are happy or not. I personally am very happy. Everyone has their good days and bad days, being a Christian does not mean you are eternally happy. And anyway who goes around telling everyone "I'm happy" all the time? If people done that you would think "Yeah right! Who are you trying to convince me or you?"

Because most religions teach you to deprive yourself of happiness in this life in order to get it in the next one.
In this life it's supposed to be all about duty, obedience, piety, sacrifice, etc. If you do that, you'll get your "reward" in heaven. Religions all teach that you're bad, sinful, fallen -- nothing of any value, and only redeemed by punishing yourself for how bad you are.

Personally I think it's abjectly silly. Even if there is an afterlife (which I highly doubt, seeing as there's no proof of any kind that there is), this life is the only one we know about -- it should be all about joy, discovery, learning, exploring, doing what makes you happy (as long as it doesn't hurt others)...life's just too short to spend it punishing yourself and trying to obey an imaginary god and his arbitrary rules.

I do not know why you think we are not happy. In fact, I am happy almost all of the time. I have my down moments like everyone else but since I know that this too shall pass, I try not to dwell on disheartening thoughts.

No clue why no religious people answered your question, but I am sure that there are plenty of religious people that are happy.

I'm fairly religious and I'm happy, at least for now.

If I had nothing but my assurance of salvation, I would be happy.

As it is God has blessed our life and given me no reason to be unhappy.
