1 Cor 12:23 and on, explains that some parts of the body (individual members) should be hidden from the world outside. I was thinking that maybe we should have a test on some really basic Bible understanding b4 we tell a new born they can go out and say i am a christian and this is the truth , when sometimes what they are saying is the opposite of truth. I am not talking debatable issues like eternal security or whether there will be a rapture but some basics like being aggressive is not what Jesus taught as a first line way to handle things, or that we should try to be in one accord and probably not advertise that we are not always or always not

I heard what mischa said!
The overly-promiscuous, ex-drug addict, born again Christian is not in a position to condemn others.

One of the main reasons I never respected Christianity is that the spiritual leaders are not necessarily masters of their dogma. Christians should have levels like karate so they have some motivation to excel. The test should not be about bible understanding becasue the entire religion is founded on a misunderstanding of the bible. I think it should start with sincerity. Before you can begin training as a Christian you should have to abandon your desire for God's approval.

Wait a minute...wouldn't that be the end of Christianity, as we know it?

I agree with you, there is nothing more aggravating than a born again telling me the way to Jesus. It's like they have lived this whole life full of sin, and bam... now they know everything. They are very closed minded. They think just because they acted in a certain way, that they rest of us have... and now they are the only ones that can save us. Their arrogant attitude wears on my last nerve.

I don't think that there should be a test because even tho everyone is Christian, people have different perspectives on what exactly happened. People faith grows the longer that they are in the faith. I do not believe that there should be a test.

That's sort of what a new member's training class in our church is designed to do. But, for the most part, it just takes time to grow into Christian maturity.

Amazing question! there is a test given in the Bible!!

Read all of Romans 8 (specifically verse 9) and you'll get your answer.

Yes, it should be an intelligence test.
Anybody who scores about 30 cannot be a christian -- you're just too darn smart. Anybody who scores under 30, go ahead and call yourself a convert and follow your silly superstitions.

Now that you mention it, at least in the old days the Catholic Church made converts go through a catechism course. And they were tested on it. (I'm not sure how it's done now - maybe over the Internet?)
