Is my DNA recorded in some computer database, I have no idea about these type of things.

I would love to give some silly answer about the red cross being a front for the CIA or something but I don't want to stop even a single person from giving blood.

No it is not, DNA is taken from many states if you are arrested or convicted and sent to jail.

But Red Cross blood is protected from search without a warrant
unlike you telephone

The Red Cross isn't interested in getting your DNA. However, it wouldn't be a bad idea if they could record our DNA's on a database.

I don't think so, it would be way to costly and time consuming to do an DNA profile of every donor. It doesn't work like the way you see it on CSI, it usually takes two weeks.

They are not suppose to collect any information, that is the government, and only Red Cross has your data. This should be on their web site. I heard the same question on a radio talk show.
