It is below zero outside.

Below can be used as an adverb so just ignore those who say it can't.

You can't. Below is not an adverb but a preposition.

And in the "Below job" example, it's being used as an adjective, even though it's not really. And "below an umbrella" (or anything) is still a preposition.

An adverb modifies an adjective.

For example, in this sentence, "dumb" is an adjective,and "below" is an adverb:

"George W. Bush is not just dumb, he is BELOW dumb."

i am below average.... verb
the cars below me were moving fast.... adjective.
can't think of one for adverb.
