Actually, they are. They mostly just don't know it. The quran is based on the old testament hebrew scriptures. In fact, the prophet mohammed used those scriptures as the bases for the entire quran. The books in question are the first five books of the bible. Today's Christians also read those same scriptures. So in effect, they are all reading each other's bibles. Not only that but the Christian God is aka Jehovah (Yahweh, etc), aka Elohim, aka El shaddai, etc. Aka Allah.
Same God, different religions.

Maybe I'm just tired because it's the end of the day, but I'm leaning toward no.
I guess I'm wondering what would be the point? Would learning more about another religion really cause tolerance and understanding? For some people perhaps, but I don't think it's a given.
I think many would open the other's book with a mindset geared to find fault. And with that attitude, they'd find plenty.
So it might just cause more strife.
But again, that might just be end of day pessimism on my part. And lack of faith (ha ha) in some people's intelligence and whatnot.

If they did, they would realize how similar their religions are and become best friends. But they still would be ignorant to the fact that all their religions are flawed. However, it would ease tensions in the world because all these tensions are arising from ignorance, brainwashing, manipulation by the media, by governments, and such. Right now, the oppressors are doing what they have always done throughout history, inciting fear in people by telling them lies and making similar things look different, why you ask? Easy, so they can control people! Like I said, it's the oldest trick in the book...the oppressors use things like this to oppress, suppress, exploit, and keep the masses right where they want them...just so they can line their pocketbooks with lots of cash and gain power, wake up and realize it, people!

That's not a bad idea. I am for doing anything that will bring better understanding of different faiths. It would also be nice to sit down with those of other faiths to have one on one discussions. In the right venue, I believe this could be done without hurting any ones feelings, and thus coming to a better understanding of the differences.

yes we should, that way everyone will do their own research and we will all come together as one, peace on Earth, God has given us all the answers in the Holy Bible, he created us and knows us better than we know ourselves that he gave us the truth in his book so we would finally see the light.
